It was as if
Blackness surrounded me

and the darkness was my deepest confidante.

The sounds of the night played softly in my ear

like raindrops

separated only by the prstine spaces

between the clouds.

And the wind softly blew,

reminding me that

an eternity of cool darkness

separates this obsidian perch

and that umbrella burst of light.

But i am content to walk in darkness,

cold & silent;

my vague dread of dawn

evelopped in my silvan longing

For this sublime, endless night.
