The Warrior's Return: Prologue
Sapphire was dead and she knew she had died, yet death was no what she had imagined it to be. She found herself in a place that was neither dark nor light, cheerful nor dreary, colorful nor blank. She had expected millions of souls to dwell within the realm of death, yet she was alone.
"Where am I? What is this place?" Sapphire asked herself aloud, not really expecting anyone to answer.
"You are in Eternity." A melodious voice answered. Suddenly, a strange woman appeared out of nowhere. The woman had shimmering blue hair and silver eyes. She also wore a dark blue gown and held a platinum staff in one hand. Hovering above the staff was an orb of swirling water.
Sapphire stared at the woman in awe for a few minutes before finally regaining her voice, "Who are you?"
"I am Mizu, gaurdian goddess of wisdom who controls the element of water. I am also your gaurdian, Sapphire."
"What is this place?" Sapphire asked again.
"I told you, this is what the immortals refer to as Eternity." the goddess replied quietly.
"So when people die they go to Eternity?" Sapphire questioned curiously.
"No, not usually. Normally, when a person dies they are automatically reborn into a new time period. When you died, I called your spirit to Eternity instead of sending you off to be reborn." Mizu explained calmly.
"Why?"
"You have a choice to make. Ryken has finally died Sapphire, but he was reborn into the same time period in which your fellow gem keepers were reborn in. You are the only keeper who has full recollection of all your past lives and are the only one who has fully mastered the use of a gem. Ryken will once again try to distrupt the harmony of the world and the gods cannt allow him to do so. You will be reborn in the same time period that Ryken and your friends no inhabit in order to keep the peace. This will not be an easy task, which is why I am giving you the ability to choose whether or not your friends will remember you or not. You must choose carefully."
"I understand. I will stop Ryken's plan; however, I do not have the right to choose what my friends will or will not remember, I ask that you give that choice to them. Allow them to choose their own destiny." Sapphire suggested.
"You do understand that if they choose not to remember you, you will have to fight alone." Mizu stated sadly.
"I have spent the majority of my exsistence alone, only recently was I released from my lonliness. Even if my friends choose to forget me, I shall never forget them."
Mizu nodded, "Very well, your friends shall be allowed to make their own choice. I wish you the best of luck, Sapphire."
"Thank you." Sapphire replied, bowing slightly.
Mizu smiled, "You're welcome. Now go off to your new life, with my protection." Once Sapphire was gone, the goddess remained in Eternity and prayed that her warrior would not have to bear the sadness of being forgotten.
~To Be Continued...~
Well, what do you think? I personally think this is more interesting than where I was going with Rain and I think I made a wise decision in starting over from scratch. I hope everyone likes this new sequal and that you all aren't too mad at me for removing Rain. Till next chapter, ~Frozen Midnight~
