Traitors of the Dark

AN: Lighter chapter. The Light warriors have no life.. who talks about their enemies around dinner?

AN2: I made a mistake in the Summary. Hawkine is Hakine and he's a Shape shifter not a Demon..

Thanks to:

HaloedDevil: I'm glad you liked the beginning, they aren't my strong points. I prefer to start in the middle of the action and go back to the beginning in a memory or something, which is most likely what will happen here. Yeah, I really wanted to get the Light Warriors out there rather than use my boring beginning which started before Winger even left and she's having this conversation with her servant about what makes a person good or bad (yawn). Anyway, enough blabbing thanks for your time. Hope you enjoy.

Quick note: Only odd chapters have titles.

Chapter Two

"Don't think you've truly defeated me." With that the demon disappeared, leaving the dark camp silent once more. Gaini smiled as she unstrung her longbow and coiled the string. Her friends gathered around her to congratulate her on a well fired shot.

Gaini blushed and shooed them away, then walked over to her Raven, who was sitting quietly by the fire. "You all right?" She asked the older girl, taking a seat next to her.

Raven, who had been staring blankly into the fire, jumped slightly, "Huh?" She turned to face Gaini, recognition crossing her features. "Oh, yes. I'm fine, it's nothing." She returned to staring into the fire.

"Winger's one of the easiest to defeat. Her wings are her weakness, so you have to try to damage them and she'll be defenseless." Cale was saying loudly, talking to some of the younger warriors. He was almost bragging.

"Winger's not weak." Raven said quietly, almost inaudible.

Gaini glanced at the black mage out of the corner of her eye. "What do you mean?"

Raven didn't turned but continued, slightly louder than before, "Winger deflected my Ice Blast with almost as much power as I had fired it. I got it head on like she had been the one to fire it. Her powers are great but she doesn't have the skills to control them." Raven paused with a sigh. "She bounded a memory with that spell."

"Whatever you do. Don't take her sword. She's a Spirit meaning she can control all four basic elements." Cale's talking (boosting) had cut through the silence.

Gaini bit her lip to keep from yelling at the attack mage. "Do you think it could just be the fact that there is a bond in your powers? You both control water and you both use black magic." She asked Raven.

Raven laughed slightly, "No. Believe it or not Cale and Winger's powers are nearly identical in every aspect except strength and he's never received a memory out of her attacks."

"Who's stronger?"

"Winger."

"I thought Winger was supposed to be weak." Gaini was confused.

"Winger isn't weak. She's powerful, Mrae agrees with me. She said that after the second time we battled Winger, she Saw something."

Gaini had not been a Light Warrior then. "What did she See?"

"She saw two people, a Demon and an Angel, talking to each other. they were repeating something back in forth. She only heard a few lines though. "Who will have been defeated ten and thrice." Was one line. Then there was "Who shall make the world suffer and to live." and the last was just "They shall rise to pass judgment." It's confusing."

Gaini's Elfish features were thoughtful. "It sounds familiar. I think I read it somewhere." She peered into the fire as though the answer were written there. "That's it! In the Book of Angels is one of their most revered prophecies. It's the reason why Demons and Angels are always kept apart."

"Do you know it?" Raven asked eagerly.

Gaini frowned, "No. All I remember is from it is that a half breed would rise to pass judgment on the world."

Raven frowned. "Useless information. Perhaps what Mrae saw is a picture of the prophecy being born and maybe Winger is destined to fall in love with an Angel or something." She brushed a strand of ebony hair out of her eyes and leaned back, staring at the moon. "I saw two people in mine, both male. One was a human and the other a shape shifter, he went from being a person to a hawk. First he landed on the human's shoulder then flew to Winger. They were all standing in what looked like a bedroom but it was bare of decoration, besides glossy black walls."

Gaini nodded, "You must've seen a piece of her real life. The human and the shape shifter are probably two of her friends."

Raven frowned. "Demon's don't have any true friends."

Gaini sighed. "You're most likely right." She leaned back and gazed up at the stars with Raven. For a while all was silent except for the low conversations through out the camp. "You know, I feel sort of sorry for Winger, even though she's a Demon."

Raven scowled. "Don't. I wish eternal suffering on her for siding with the Dark, regardless of whatever may have happened in the past."

The Elf girl sighed and left the conversation at that.

AN- Okay, here's my new story. I love this plotline way to much to give it up so please do me a favor and leave a review. I only need one for each chapter before I update and it can be the same person over and over again. I just want to make sure all my energy in posting these is not wasted. The more reviews you send may change my speed of updating but it'd have to be really dramatic, read my list of what I would do if I got a certain amount of reviews in The Thief Princess to see what I mean.

Title rant: We (as in the writer's club at my school) took a vote for the title of this after reading the prewrite, summary, chapter one, and the Prophecy. The choices were "Traitors of the Dark", "Forsaken", and "From Darkness to Light" Well, everyone agreed when I told them the ending that none of the characters really go from Dark to Light or vise versa so that was ruled out. And then it was really close between "Forsaken" (for the fact it's short yet powerful) and "Traitors of the Dark" (for it's uniqueness). Well, we all know which one won.

To lighten things up a bit, my previews will be told from one character's point of view in a rather light hearted way, despite how the chapter may turn out.

Chapter Three: Winger here! It's dueling time! I've been challenged by my arch rival Alicore, a dragon spell master with awesome powers. Alicore has heard of my great improvements and seeks to avenge his own unfortunate defeat at my hands. Meanwhile, haunting dreams have disturbed my sleep pattern, causing me to spend more time during the day than at night awake. As if that's not bad enough, now there's a newbie in the Court who seems to think he knows everything about me... does he? Anyway, it's all next time "Spellcaster."

Anyway, Later

Locke

PS- R&R please!!!!
