Don’t You See?
Don’t you see? They drove me to it; it’s not my fault. I’m not to blame.
They didn’t care if I cried, they wanted me to cry, to shed my soul’s blood for them.
It was the same everyday from seven ‘til two. You wanted me to learn, to make you proud, so I stayed.
They glared at me, their eyes telling me they hated me, as did their words when they spoke. Even their actions left nothing to wonder.
You never noticed the salt trails; you never noticed how I always wanted to be along, creating a world of my own.
How can you cry? I’m gone now; your disappointment is gone. Go ahead, pretend you’re sad, because I don’t care anymore. From the earth was my birth, in the sky I now fly.
Don’t you see? I’m happy now, as should you be. Don’t you see? I’m home.
Don’t you see?
