“Well shone, Moon.  Truly, the moon shines with a good grace.”

~~A Midsummer Night’s Dream

~~*~~

Bathed in silver light, the world seems to be

a strange and unknown place, another realm,

or perhaps the same, but charged with a new

energy.  To this enigmatic source

I make my plea.  We might breathe the same air

tonight, and certainly we gaze upon

the same stars.  Let the beautiful power

of the pregnant orb carry my call to

my love.  Perhaps if he sits and watches

the sky the same as I do, my whisper

will find him, somewhere out under black night’s

blanket.  My soul cries out, signals to its

eternal partner with this longing prayer:

Let the moon be my messenger; hear me.
