A/N:  Let’s see…  This was inspired by, well, its first sentence.  You see, I found it scrawled on the last page of one of my notebooks.  To this day I have no idea where it comes from, I don’t know if I came up with it and wrote it down then forgot about it, if I read it somewhere and wrote it down then forgot about it, or what.  If you recognize the sentence, feel free to enlighten me.  Anyways, I read it, and the first thing that popped into my head was “revolution!”  That’s the kind of person I am.  So I expanded on it, and this is what I was left with.  Enjoy!

It started as a soft murmur, a shadow of a rumor, whispered by the young boys down the silent halls.

“Revolution”

It swelled to a sharp cry, a desperate plea, shouted by the oppressed citizens in the narrow streets.

“REVOLUTION”

It rose to a loud roar, a thunderous chant, echoed by the angry comrades in the bloody countryside.

REVOLUTION!”

And it subsided to a soft murmur, a shadow of a rumor, whispered by the relieved people in the free country.

“revolution”
