Foundation

Tell me,
What’s wrong with Gravity?
Why does He say,
"No, you can’t fly."
Is it because,
He’s jealous?
As I reach,
I reach towards the sky.
The closer I get.
The more He,
Gravity,
Pushes me back down.
"You don’t have wings"
No, I guess I don’t.
But if my arms were long enough,
Couldn’t I grab hold?
Maybe, pull myself up?
"That’s enough"
I get pushed back down,
I land on my back.
But I get myself up.
My feet smile towards the ground.
"Hello Earth."
My feet have met their old friend.
Once again.
Foundation.
Something to build, From.
A strong place, Obviously.
If it’s of stone, Uncertain.
Synthetic? No, Natural.
Discouraged? No, Determined.
Something, Amazing.
Always, perpetually, There.
Heart of creation, Important.
Your beginning, your, Origin.
Forget it? Never.
And from this,
Foundation.
I can stand up,
And reach again.
