Reaction Phenomenon

“A butterfly beating its wings in China
Can cause a tornado in America”

With every breath he takes
cracks form in the sky.
He takes a step, and
the world spins,
turns topsy turvy, and
settles in a new pattern.
He tries again, and
Demons are loosed
upon the world.
Unable to stand against
what spins around him,
he falls to his knees,
and the moon drops from the sky,
shattering like ice at his feet.
He cannot move
(forward or back.)
How should he deal,
with his new wonderland
of Cause and Effect.
He sits still, on painful knees
and thinks,
as stars twinkle, sewing up
the cracks he makes
with every slight breath.
If he sits, silent and still
perhaps it will end? But no...
He hears the pulse
of delicate wings
beating softly in his breast:
The wind begins to blow,
harder and stronger
until tornadoes rage
and dance with the
demons that surround him.
