How the hell did she talk us into this? Kyle wondered to himself, his heart was beating in his throat, drowning out the sound of his breathing. Oh my god, I can't believe I let her drag me and Darcy, out of our warm beds, to go egg some bitch's house. At two o'clock in the morning too!

"Vanessa, I know you're not going to make me go down that alley, right?" Darcy stared at her in shock

"Darce, you know it's the fastest way to Kelly's house!!" she pleaded, "Kyle." She continued in a tone that clearly said that she expected me to say something

"Uh, Nessa, I'd really rather not back you up on this one." Kyle muttered, shifting his weight to his other leg, and shoving his hands into his jacket pocket, gripping to the compass he had quickly placed in there after math class, slightly uncomfortable.

None of them were to keen on going down that alley, but Vanessa refused to act scared, it was her tough reputation that kept her alive, she knew the world was a cruel place, and she didn't plan on letting down her guard, not now, nor ever

"Fine." she said in an even tone "I'll go by myself."

She started down the alley. The walls were decorated with graffiti. She had always admired the way, these violators of the law wrote when they were feeling rebellious. But she didn't worry, she knew that her friends would be close behind. And they were. But not before she got herself into a little bit of trouble.

"Ah, Vanessa." came a smooth voice from the darkness.

Vanessa whirled around, and saw a man step out from the shadows.

"Get the hell away from me!" Vanessa warned her voice level, but he could see, as he was advancing upon her how frightened she was. He loved girls with expressive eyes, it told you everything.

"I told you last night no to bail out at the last minute." He continued advancing on her "If you want to succeed in this business you have to want it. I told you, not to fuck with my money, or my time."

"I don't know what you're talking about. " Vanessa replied, her voice rising.

"Oh? I think you do. I'm ready to force it out of you." He said, "If you disappoint my customers, you disappoint me."

"Do you know what happens when people disappoint me?" Smiles continued, smoothly.

"N-n-no." Vanessa stuttered, backing up towards the alley wall.

"Oh, you will." He sneered.

Vanessa let out an ear piercing scream.
