Perhaps this is a ridiculously pretentious poem. At any rate, today's
poetic fashion doesn't run to rhymes, or structured verse, or archaic
language-in short, basically everything I write. Ah well, I hope you like
this, anyway. If nothing else, endless hours of amusement can be obtained
by reading this backwards and listening for Satanic messages. I'm sure
they're in there, somewhere. Cheers!

A Love Sonnet

My mind in febrile ecstasy doth course
Between the pathways of the mortal and divine,
And, pausing there, my soul's eyes glimpse the source
Of shim'ring strands that bind my heart to thine.
I cannot cool my frenzied brain in sleep
For ever from my dreams thy visage springs,
Seared with starry fire into my eyelids, deep,
Yet never feel I pain, for my heart sings.
I see my visions mirrored in thine eyes
As fast around us whirled planets move-
A love, perhaps, not old nor grand nor wise,
But time our wild passions deep will prove.
For truth remains, though ages rise and fall:
Life, without love, cannot be lived at all.
