Until The Next Train Pulls Out

Two stand under some lonesome streetlight
Waiting on a God neither knows
Waiting to forget tonight

Dancing in and out
Of each others lives, who
She will ask, why
Words can't explain

Walking away from life, head bowed
Into shadows that others will never know about
But her, as her hand slips by
Touching the black sun tonight
The one that should have burned
Somehow feels right, now

In sinful arms the phone rings
Reminding the lost of what was left behind
Brought back to the corner
That changes lives
Looking into another set of empty eyes
It's over.
