A shadow moves in the dark,
So quick that it may only,
Have been your imagination,
You can't tell reality,
From fantasy any more,
Alone in the night,
You shiver and,
A chill races up your spine,
Is it only the wind,
Or is there something,
Waiting in the blackness,
Only a few feet away,
The darkness is suffocating,
Pressing in on you,
Images of demons chase,
Each other through your mind,
As a sweat drop rolls off your chin,
Hitting the ground with,
A splash that you hear clearly,
In the silence,
Your ears strain after,
Every sound,
You wonder if you'll ever,
See daylight again,
Or if you'll be forever,
Lost in the darkness.
