Outside, the leaves are turning gold

The bitter wind rips them from their home

Scattering them across the fields and roads

Paving the way with the colour of Autumn

Time for scarves and gloves and hats

Buried alive in an over-sized coat

To scare away the icy cold

Inside, the Autumn sun lights the room

Bathing us in shades of golden yellow

We move closer, sharing the warmth

Wandering hands, caressing skin

A contented sigh, we lie like languid cats

You move in closer, a bewitching smile

Kissing away the icy cold
