Sandman

Standing amidst broken

Bodies shattered

Bones protruding

Blood now congealed

About torn skin

I consider my waking

This dream everlasting

Since I remember not

When I didn't face

Such carnage

My hand twitches

Blasting apart assailants

Hiding in a crater

To my twelve o'clock

A shunt a click

My weapon readied

As I move along

I will win my dreams

End & know

Salvation

I see before me

A child carrying by

Its hair what appears

To be a woman's still

Bleeding head

Stained with blood

I imagine it must be

His mother as he rushes

At me wielding a

Large knife

Ack Ack Ack

His threat is ended

Along I pray with

His personal torment

I see him breathing

Gargling on his blood

He motions too me

Come closer still

Clinging to his mother

Blade asunder

At first impale

Of tiny missiles

Impact

"This dream you're in"

He gargled blood

Flowing from his

Rendered wound

"This dream you're in"

"Is not"

His mother rolled aside

I recognised the eyes

It was mine

He was my kin

My brother

This land I walk

My own making

I breathe a sigh

Moving onward

I know I will fight

On dream or no

I know no other way

Rancid oil permeates

My oxygen a chugging

Rends my ears as a

Pain racks my spine

And chest to reveal a

Large blade tearing it's

Way through my

Sullied white shirt

Soon crimson from

Onslaught now taken

I ponder at my last

To know why I survived

Five years

In hell to error

At this hour

Laughter echoes in

My ears

"Now we can sleep"

"Yeah we got the Bastard"

"Sandman hah"

I hear laughing again

This time my own

Gentle at first then

Stronger then…

"He's sleeping

Peacefully first

Time in weeks

Poor lad

I don't know what

It was you know

Some thing about

A legend"

"Sandman he said

Sandman?

Yeah that's right"

ACK ACK ACK
