"Wind for Comfort"
By: Darcy Took

A gray, cold piece of stone
That stands up right in the earth
Is only a marker for what you have lost.

The once warm embrace is gone,
You have only the wind for comfort.

An eerie silence meets your ears.
You spine shivers at the thought
Of what life is now like.

The once sweet lips are gone,
You have only the wind for comfort.

Standing in the field of death
With only a faint prayer
Which never passes you lips

The once tender love is gone
You have only the wind for comfort

Giving in to the comfort of the wind
You lessen your pain
and satisfy your morning soul

The once beating heart stops
You no longer need the wind for comfort

End
