“What are we supposed to be doing?”

“I don’t know, the author isn’t making us do anything.”

“Do we even have names?”

“No, we don’t.” said Chris.

“Ah ha! You do have a name, it’s Chris.”

“Yeah…”

“Do we have any last names?”

“First of all, you don’t even have a first name. Second, no, I don’t have a last name…I’m like ‘Cher.’”

“Ah, good point.”

“Isn’t it?”

“Yes.”

“Indeed.”

“What was your name again?”

“I don’t remember.”

“Then how do we know who’s talking?”

“We don’t.”

“But shouldn’t we?”

“Why would we?”

“Because we’re talking to each other.”

“I guess we should be able to.”

“Yes.”

“Excellent.”

“What’s excellent?

“Hmm?”

“You said ‘excellent.’”

“No I didn’t.”

“Yes you did.”

“No, I said it.”

“Who are you?”

“Some character the author made up.”

“Why did he make you?”

“So I could tell you he’s running out of space on the paper and he has to stop soon.”

“Couldn’t he just use another paper?”

“No.”
