~~ Title ~~ Angel's Prayer part II
==---//
Deserea sighed and gazed up through the bars above her head. "A cell..fitting for an animal or pet..but for me?" She muttered to herself.
She hugged her knees to her chest and tears slid down her pale cheeks. Her cheekbones were evident from lack of food and her body was mangled from the abuse of Kain. A splint was on her left wrist and a bandage went halfway around her neck, both wounds were part of Kain's so called pleasure. Two months passed and Dante hadn't even shown to save her, she felt alone and abandoned. Deserea knew she was pregnant and she had hoped to be with Dante to share the news, but she didn't know how he'd take the news. She herself had been surprised and Kain knew also, that's why he had never tried to have intercourse with her. He just beat her until she cried and Deserea cringed everytime he walked through the cellar door. Two months pregnant, she thought with a frown and her hands caressed her abdomen, without proper care.
She closed her eyes tightly and screamed.

Dante knelt before the angel as he had done before and closed his eyes. "I have come to confess, my lady Angelus. I have not been the galient knight I should be and gone to rescue my princess, but I had to heal fully. My side was hit pretty bad and the maids told me to rest, which I did. Please, protect Deserea until I can save her...please. Protect our son," he whispered.
He clasped his hands together and pulled them apart quickly before he rose to his feet. Dante brushed himself off and turned away from Angelus. "Please..give me the strength to protect something that means more to me than my country...my life."
He exited the room and stopped, his hand rested on the hilt of his blade. Before him stood three of his black knights, ones loyal and brave. "Lord, we have heard of the mistress being captured. We will help you bring her back," a blonde man said with a bow.
"I don't need help, I want to do this on my own and all of you should stay here...to protect my house until I get back with Deserea," Dante replied and rushed through.
--==
Deserea opened her eyes as a raindrop landed on her cheek and she sat up from her curled up position on the cold, hard cement floor. Rain poured down on her and in a matter of only ten minutes she was drenched. The tears which streamed down her face looked nothing like tears, but like the rain which trickled down the walls and her face. "Deserea," a voice whispered.
"Dante?!" Deserea exclaimed and glanced up.
Sure enough, Dante was above and he looked down at her. His hair was matted to his head and his clothing was drenched, but he looked the part of a knight in shining armor. He stood up and unsheathed his sword, raised it up and brought it swiftly across the bars. "Watch yourself," he warned as the bars collapsed.
Deserea struggled to her feet and the bars fell to her feet. She looked up at Dante as a rope was lowered and she grabbed it. "I thought you weren't going to come for me," she said as he pulled her up.
Dante smiled and tugged hard, which brought her up to the edge. He grabbed her arms and pulled her body the rest of the way. "Why wouldn't I come for you?" He asked.
Deserea shrugged and suddenly her eyes rolled back in their sockets. She collapsed and Dante caught her before she fell, his feet firmly planted against the wet tile. He pulled her back up to him and picked her up. "The cold weather's giving her a fever," he muttered and turned around.
He carefully descended down from where he came up and dropped to the grass. The sounds of sirens blaring caught his ears and he rushed back to his carriage. "Let's get it moving, Lord. Kain should be furious when he finds out Deserea is gone," his driver, Bale, said.
"I know I know," Dante said hurriedly and jumped into the carriage.
The vehicle moved and Dante held the ice cold Deserea close to him, prepaired to take his own clothing off to put on her if she fell into a deeper fever.
==--
Thunder boomed and Kain sat up in his bed. "Who's there?!" He ordered.
A figure was leaned against the large window and two swords were clenched in the figure's hands. Kain fumbled for the light, switched the on and nothing happened. "Who are you and do you have any last words before I-"
"You thought you won," the figure said, the tone sharp and deep.
"Dantelos?"
Lightning flashed and Dante stood there against the window, his face hard and expressionless. Kain glanced over at his wife and his eyes widened in horror. Blood still spilled from her slit throat and Kain jumped out of his bed. "Have you gone mad!? What the hell do you think you are doing?" Kain roared.
"You could have killed her," Dante muttered.
He walked towards Kain and the older man stepped back. "Killed whom? Deserea?! Who gives a damn anyways!?"
Dante growled and brought his right sword down on a wooden chair. The chair exploded into fragments and Dante rushed Kain. The two burst out of the room and Dante pushed Kain into the opposite wall with his swords tight against his throat. "I give a damn!" Dante hissed through his teeth, anger boiled in his eyes.
Kain frowned and stared Dante in the face. "Did you even ask her by her real name? Deserea...that is but a pet name you had given the girl. Do you even care about her? Or do you just not want to be alone, without anyone to care for you when you're old? You are pathetic..pretending you are someone you are not. Sending someone else to do your dirty work for you, Dantelos. Dante, pah, he is but your twin!"
Silence passed through the halls, save for the thunder which crackled outside and Kain's body dropped to the floor. Dantelos.....
==---
Dante opened his eyes as the door opened and a young man which looked exactly like him stepped in. "What are you doing here, Dantelos?" Dante whispered.
The other young man frowned and wiped the blood from his face. "Kain knew....have you had your fun, dear brother? I have been the one to kill...to save your sweet love. I rescued her and brought her back here, you sit here awaiting me every day and every night to tell you about her. I am the father of -your- child because you were to afraid to be forceful. You only hide in this room until I return and then you never reveal yourself to her. What is her real name, Dante?" Dantelos inquired.
Dante frowned and turned his eyes to the floor. Dantelos threw his swords to the ground and turned to the door. "You are just like mother.....you had others do your work and sat by observing their tactics. You are never going to be a great king. You show that woman kindness, I showed her rutheless authority and I am to be king. Not you. She could be mine and you won't be able to stop me. You are the weak twin, you've always been weak and you show mercy. You said she was right! What a pathetic excuse for a man, believing a -woman- is right and you were wrong. I trained our guards to be rutheless to women, children and men. You killed my best guard and for that I cannot forgive you, dear twin."
"Don't you dare harm her!"
Dantelos turned on his twin. "You'll do what? Pray to Angelus? That is but a faint memory of our mother and even the wings are a falsehood. She was never an angel, but a fraud and I think it's in your best interest to go back into hiding. Let me take care of everything, now....I bid you farewell," he muttered and left the room.
Dante stood up and walked over to the blades, which were covered in crimson blood. He then looked at the door and a single tear trickled down his right cheek.
--==
Dantelos walked down the long hall and turned to a sharp right. He entered a room and flipped a switch which lighted the whole room. The room was bare, save for Deserea who was in a chair in the middle of the room and a row of candles which were arranged around her. She looked up and her whole body shivered. "Dante," she whispered.
"Seems he hasn't told you the truth," Dantelos muttered and walked around Deserea.
"He? What are you talking about?"
"My twin brother, Dante, hasn't told you the truth. Has he?"
"Twin?"
Deserea looked down at the ground and confusion swept through her cold body. She sniffled and looked up at the man before her. "Who are you?"
"Dantelos, the twin you had met in the throne room. The bedroom and who had -saved- you. The nice one you had talked with was Dante, he is but a weak man and I assure you. That I am not a nice man."
"You were the one who chained me to the floor?" Deserea asked.
"Yes," Dantelos replied.
"Dante was the one who released me, wasn't he?"
"Yes, against my wishes. So, I took the liberty of impregnating you and you are carrying my child. Not Dante's and that child will grow to be a powerful ruler like I will soon be."
Tears streamed down Deserea's cheeks and she struggled against the rope which bound her to the chair. Dantelos walked around her again and stopped when he was behind her. "You find no difference between him and I?"
"No..."
Deserea was whirled around and Dantelos placed his face inches from hers. "Look into my eyes!" He ordered.
Deserea gazed into his eyes and didn't find much of a difference. His eyes were gray, just like the ones she had seen when she first arrived and Dantelos glanced away from her. "Dante...please come into this room," he said.
Deserea turned and a mirror image of Dantelos entered the room. He walked over to the two and stopped when he reached them. "I am sorry, Deserea," Dante said quietly.
"Now look at his eyes," Dantelos said.
Deserea looked at Dante and realized that his eyes were a deep red caramel. "N-no," she murmered.
The two young men stepped back and Dantelos looked more sinister than Dante. He stood with an almost dictating stance, while Dante was more laid back and calm. Dantelos's eyes were more narrow and mysterious, while Dante's were rounded and withheld emotion. Dantelos wore black clothes, while Dante wore mostly brown and navy blue. "Deserea...that isn't your real name, now is it?" Dantelos asked.
"No...it is not," Deserea replied.
"Tell me..what is your real name so we can finally become more aquainted, my dear."
Dante sighed and Dantelos glanced at his twin before he returned his eyes on Deserea. She closed her eyes and thunder exploded through the room as she mouthed her name.

to be continued.....
ooooh, what tis her name? Confused about the whole twin thing? Well...sry, but I found it to be a rather interesting twist on how he could be sooo cruel one moment then all nice and knowing the next. Dantelos is the evil twin and Dante is the good twin. Eh, I should make a chapter explaining the twins...just to clear up confusion on them.
