This weird poem was inspired by the anime The Vision of Escaflowne (which I don't own, but I demand that you go watch it) because I was happily obsessing over the hot guys in it when the idea for this poem hit me. ^_^ Anyway, to cut the explanation short, let's just say that with the following thoughts ran through my mind: "Hey - you know, he (he being Dilandau Albatou) looks good in the color red! Hmm . . . I wonder what he'd like covered in blood - 'cause blood is red. I could write a poem 'bout that - only it'd be about some innocent little kid who . . . goes freaky-like when it comes to blood or whatever! And the narrator could compare the kid to an angel because then I could portray innocence AND have bloody feathers! Ooo!" Yes, my mind is strange and yes, I have problems. But please . . . just read and review for you shall receive my happiness!

You like to giggle madly every time
As it splatters against your skin.
And the sight's so strange -
Because you are an angel
And you've forgotten exactly why.

You once told me something -
And I think that was the day you died.
Feathers heavy and dripping down.
As small as you were, you laughed.
And you said, "Red suits me."

I used to watch you frolic and play,
Talking with trees and flowers.
But now you treasure only scarlet -
And nothing touches you anymore.
We both know you've been clipped.

But painted against the pale, it,
It makes you look so alive -
The way nothing else can anymore.
And that's what makes me sad,
Because you're right, red suits you.
