(Six Months Later)
Lenn took her casual steps through the dark woods alone. A single twig snapped and caused an echo. Her arms were folded across her chest; her eyes were closed, as she tilted her head. Her golden hair glistened in the sunlight. She took a deep breath of air into her lungs. Each of her steps was quiet, slow, and patient. The rest of the woods were silent, nothing moved but her.
Lenn had her garnet in her hands. She held it tightly as though she could sense something from it, and fear it would end. The crimson color on the necklace shimmered so brightly. When she opened her eyes, a tear escaped.
She continued walking until she found herself in a new surrounding. The sunlight was now clearly above her, and in front of her was the vast ocean. The garnet was still in her hands, across her chest. The listened as the waves played her a song.
So she has survived. It's been six months since that tragic day. Everyone moved to a new town called Se'Ana. Despite its size, the heart of its residents was large, immediately giving hospitality ever since they first arrive. They were kind and generous, completely understanding as they took them in.
Though not many survived. Very few were taken away with the Remertas themselves.
The Shoguns also were supportive, lending as much hands as they can. They received news that the Remertas had disappeared ever since that day. So the war with the Daimyos was postponed. Without the war to worry about, the Shoguns took their time at Se'Ana to rest and train.
Yiko City, on the other hand, was completely destroyed. Some people still go up there, in search for special debris. Other than that, it is not worth going back anymore.
The waves kept playing their peaceful song. Whispering into her ears as the wind pulled her hair back. She slipped off her shoes so her bare foot met the warm and inviting sand. It felt good to intertwine with nature. The waves grew larger as they nearly touched her toes. She took a step back.
"I thought you were a brave girl."
Lenn opened her eyes and smiled, but she didn't turn around, "You're wrong. I never was."
Legon slowly walked forward, until he was beside her, staring deep out of the ocean. "Oh right. I remember. You're daddy's little girl." He had a smirk on his face. Lenn turned to look at him, then rolled her eyes.
"And what about you? What is behind all that military training?"
"You don't wanna know about those stuff. Believe me."
She raised a brow, "I don't I?"
"No."
She looked ahead and swayed her arms. The breeze got a little chilly, but it still felt good. They were in a moment of silence. Only the ocean was making music. Minutes later, Legon turned to Lenn. He tilted his head, "You alright?"
Her smile was gone but she still had her head up. Her liquid blue eyes was empty with sadness, ". . .I want to go home."
He let out a sigh. Then turned to walk around. It was hard to keep her happy. She always seems to have something to worry about, to keep her out of ease. "Lenn, don't you like it here? I mean, how many times can you see a real life beach in a middle of a buzzling city? You got something here, and you wanna give it away?"
"I don't. I don't. But . . .I'm not ready to give away my home yet either."
"You don't get the point."
She turned around, her eyes narrowed. Legon smiled and set a hand on her shoulder. He pointed out into the ocean, "You see how big it is? It'll keep going like that for over a hundred miles. And as further out there, as deeper it gets. No one could be seen."
Lenn looked up at him, then back out into the giant body of water.
"Now, I want you to - with all your lungs - yell out that this is your home."
Her eyes shot back at him. "What are you crazy? I'm not gonna -"
"Trust me. I did this to Terone when he's discouraged. It always works." He took a few steps back to watch her. But her eyes are still on him, transfixed.
She shook her head at him then looked back at the ocean. All she did was hesitated. "Legon, I am not going to humiliate myself like this." She turned away. He put his hands on his hips, "You're gonna have to if you want a home. Besides, no one could hear you."
A few moments later, she turned to the ocean, "Okay, I get it. I'll make a fool of myself for this time only. But you have to remember this moment cause I'm getting back at you." Legon shrugged.
Then she faced the ocean, her arms at her side. She cleared her throat and inhaled as much air as possible.
"THIIS IIS MY HOOME!!!!! SE'ANA IS MY NEW HOME!!!"
She started laughing, then got over to playfully push Legon. "Atta girl." He clapped.
"You better watch out Se'Ana cause I'm no city-girl anymore!!" She cried into the ocean. "I'm gonna discover the WORLD!!" She laughed again, and then danced around splashing the water reaching her. The waves responded well.
Legon laughed, then turned back to the town, "Easy, girl. Don't go overboard. Now let's go home."
"Right behind you."
