Your smile was as bright as the thousand candles in my head, lighting the way. I thought I would fall down stairs that were never there to begin with. Loneliness creeping in like fog, settling in my joints and heart. The bed never felt so vast; I was floating on an ocean of cotton, desperate to be rescued from drowning.
