At school I met Amy.
My friend she becamey.
Always loving to learn,
like me, she's a bookworm.
But, to my dismay,
she is moving away.
Yet friends are forever,
no matter what weather.
I'll send letters by the stack
(So she'd better write back!),
and hopefully sometime soon,
I'll see her (perhaps in June).
And since she is leaving,
she will be receiving,
this book of rhymes from me,
'cause a poet is what she'll be.
Okay, I'm sick of rhyming!
It's been long; I was timing.
Don't ever forget me Amy.
(Darn! Nothing rhymes with Amy!)
Anyway, email me please,
for I think we should agree
that staying in touch
helps a friendship very much.
