An Answer

Maybe I’m too blind to people

Maybe I don’t see the ones that really like me

Maybe I brush them off when I should be catching on

Maybe I’m too self-absorbed,

Maybe everything I think shouldn’t be about me

Maybe that’s where happiness lies-

In other people, in deeds done that mean more than words

In things done that fix what needs to be done,

But no one thinks will ever change

Maybe that’s where my happiness lies,

In doing something that builds me a bridge,

Not just to understanding, but to being part of

Not just in words, but in action to everyone I feel alienated from.
