Watching from the stands,
Gazing fondly from afar,
I watch him sing and play guitar.
Looking on I contemplate,
Could he be the one I'm looking for?
The one to help me get through the past?
Watching him, listening to his pretty words,
I decide it's worth the chance.
After the show,
I find my friend,
Who happens to know him.
I say to him, is he free?
To which he replies no.
Saddened I head home,
My hopes of moving on crushed by reality.
Sitting at my computer,
I look through pictures.
Going through them I find one of us together,
I'm holding you close,
And we're smiling in a way to let the world know how happy we were.
I choke for a moment and hold back tears,
And my sensations become overwhelmed in memory.
I can feel you next to me,
I can feel your smooth skin.
I can smell your sexy scent,
I can see you shining eyes.
For a moment as I gaze on your picture,
I remember you.
I remember you with me,
Remember why I loved you so,
Why I couldn't let you go.
I suddenly cry,
And angrily think,
How could I possibly move on?
You are who I'm meant to be with,
You are who I love.
You're then one I'm holding onto,
The one I'm waiting for.
