For poetry club most people didn’t have everything, so someone said that we’d start putting a word up everyday that we would need to use in the poem. The word was “scathing,” thus where the name of the poem came from XD Shows my creativity. This is veryyyyy vaguely based off the movie “Not Without My Daughter,” but it really isn’t XD Was going to be. Ah well. I like it ^^

Scathing by ShadowSpirit

I can’t bear to look at you anymore

Your stare, it’s in your eyes, it’s hate

I hate you, how you take advantage of me

You treat me lower than anything

Lower than the ground, exceeding the core

How am I supposed to look upon you?

Your scathing glare sends me to my knees, crying to be free

To be left alone

When I look at you, a shiver runs down my spine

I can’t stand, I can’t speak, I can’t get away

How do I escape the cage you locked me in?

How do I push away the troubles of your haunting expression?

My mind is running in circles, you confuse me more and more

It’s you I hate, and you forever and I know you hate me too

Though how is it some days I stare - you smile

I smile back

Why….why must I smile, when I’m supposed to hate?
