He flies on wings of dark glass through a starlit sky
Out among a million wishes and hopeful dreams
All waiting to be born but suppressed by destiny
Their genesis depends on him, a cursed fate he will defy

They are not his to grant, yet he still endeavors to try
The fragile angel journeys to deliver his gifts
To heaven, purgatory, earth, hell and back
Traveling to redeem countless centuries of foregone lies

One by one the diamonds fall from the night
Reaching out to an infinity of longing and need
And as the blackness grows dim and new life rejoices
A bright sun breaks loose in an exultation of light

And in the midst of it all, the dark seraph sighs
His soul slowly breaking, shattering forever
In betraying the dark that birthed his power
He sacrificed all to save love, and in doing so, died
