Damp
The quake of horror stands still in the night air; echoes of lost memories repeat endlessly. Her eyes grew wider than the largest of orbs. Fear, in its true form, is quiet, but none the less there.
"Vengeance is sweet, my lady?" The thought was asked questionably, jaune eyes dancing in the pitch. The lass edged away from...from this man that she use to love. But now-
"So what if it is? Am I to blame for this probable cause?" She'd heard enough as she spat out her angry words. A bitter laugh rang in the dark air once it had left the gleeful mouth of Daemon. Yes, Daemon Hunter had come for his loved one...for his Emily. Now was the time.
"Actually, yes, you are. Who else could take the harshness of this disgusting-" The word was quite emphasized, "-nature that you always seem to create?" The night was still cold; the darkness was still damp.
"And this is coming from Daemon? Daemon Hunter?" It was Emily's turn to laugh. Her shrill of girlish propose eliminated the deadly silence, "I would have thought that a more honest man would permit those words to be spoken."
"Honest man? Honest? No, no, my dear has nothing to do with the truth. Truth is the darkness of our human nature. And to say the least, the truth hurts," He smiled idly; it had either been the gloom or the frigidity that had made this man smile. Usually, from the beginning of time, Daemon Hunter was a full-hearted man. This had been true up until the day he had met Emily. Now he was...cold...somber...damp.
"Truth is nothing but the lies of the past! It is! If there was ever a time in which I could replace with truth, it was lies! All lies!" Emily dared to take a step closer to Daemon, eyes becoming normal size and courage swelling in her chest, "So what truth do you speak?"
"I speak the truth of the worlds. The truth that is carried to everyone's grave...death." Silence took control once again, but only for a short while. Emily narrowed her eyes, anger flaming in her heart...in her eyes...in her soul.
"Death. Death?" Emily muttered, no, screamed at Daemon. Yet still, he only smiled damply. Truth wasn't to be spoken now. Only the anger, fear, and coldness of the Earth were permitted now. Nothing else mattered. Not even love.
"Death. Damp death. A harsh death serves all...and it will serve you. Goodnight, my lovely lady." A flash of lightning illuminated the darkness, showing the very fingers grasping into the heart of the sky. Seconds later, Emily laid on the floor still. Her eyes were wide again, just like at the beginning. The beginning was the truth in this matter...it was all a lie. One damn stupid lie.
"And may God help your twisted soul." That seemed to be it. Walking away from his love, his life, Daemon cried. He'd been broken...again.
