I shuddered awake, finding myself in a soft bed with Ana asleep next to me. I was more than confused and lost in wonder as to how I ended up back in my apartment.

"About time you woke the hell up." I felt a pillow slam into my head and I looked up to see a full head of Irish red curls and ocean blue eyes glaring at me.

"Ga...Gabriel!?"

"No...It's your mother. Of course it's me!"

"How...what...why am I..."

She sighed heavily before sitting down next to me. "Michael...I died in the battle."

"The battle! How did that-"

"We won..." He eyes wondered to Ana who still lay sleeping in the bed. "All thanks to her."

I sat up slowly, holding my hand to my head. "Gabe...what happened. What do you mean you died? If you died, how could you be here this very moment?"

"That's WHY I'm here, Michael." She ran her hands through her spirals. "Michael...everyone who died up in heaven was given a 2nd chance on earth."

"So...you mean...you're reincarnated!?"

She bit her lip in contemplating thought "In a round about sort of way...yes."

"You still have yet to explain to me what happened." She pummeled me again with the pillow.

"I'm working on it! Don't you remember anything?"

"The last thing I saw before I somehow woke up here was a hellish sword of green flame about to ram into me."

"Oh ok, well then you remember as much as I hoped you would." She took a deep breath. "It was rather impressive...Anael really saved your ass."

"I don't even know if I'm ready to try contemplating how she got out of hell on her own considering I'm still trying to figure out how I got here."

"Ana destroyed over half of Hell's army in one blow."

"What!?"

"You seem OVERLY surprised, Michael."

"Just a smidge."

"It was beautiful really. She exploded through the clouds and just started ripping everything apart recklessly." I concluded that Gabriel was the only one to believe that being reckless could be beautiful. "You actually one of the few Arch Angels to not die...you were spared and sent back here before that could happen. I was taken down in the last few remaining minutes of the fight. Anael used her energy source from within, her raw power."

"Her Essence!?"

"That would be it."

"But...she should be..."

"Dead? I know...any normal Angel would be. But apparently our little Ana is a bit more special than we thought."

I sighed heavily, slicking my fingers through my long hair. Then it hit me, my hair was long. "Holy Shit!" I think I must have frightened Gabriel.

"What!? What happened?"

"My hair! It's long! And...Strawberry!" She looked at me like I was crazy.

"Yes Michael..."

"No! No! You don't get it! In my original human form my hair is short more blonde and spiky! This must mean..." I paused for a minute. "Gabe, try and bring out your wings."

"I already tried...I can't. Not yet anyway, I think I used too much of my power in heaven for them to materialize at the moment." I hadn't thought of that and had forgotten that the wing span of an Angels wings not only depended on the height and weight of the individual but also how much of an energy source they held from within. "You think you could expose yours?"

"I don't know...and frankly I'm up to trying at the moment." I decided to change the subject while I still could. "Who all do you that did die?"

"Myself, Uriel, Seth, Sage, Polaris, Ariel, Azacachia, Apragsin and Raphael."

"My God...that's over half of heavens forces gone right there. So, their all here, on earth?"

"I'm assuming so and to top it off we have someone new to find."

"Oh great...as if I don't have enough stress in my life as is..."

"Her earth bound name is Kimberly." I looked at her as if she was crazy.

"Do you know how many God forsaken Kimberly's there are on this accursed planet!?"

"Apparently we'll know her when we see her."

"Ug..." I groaned in self misery. "WHY don't the scriptures say ANYTHING about these kind of things!?"

Gabriel looked at me, befuddled to a certain degree. "Because...the scriptures lie..."
