We all think courage means fighting off monsters,

We all think courage means braving the storm,

We all think courage means taking risks,

But theres another type of courage not enough know,

A young child, sick form birth still

walks through life with a smile

Despite the pain, despite the fear,

they never shed a single tear

Others watch and feel so sorry,

for the burden they have to carry

To brave our fears we think is hard,

But think of these children and the burdens they bear,

But a smile and hug they're willing to share

They walk through life with a bright smile,

In their shoes we couldn't even walk a mile

When I hear courage I think of these children,

When I hear courage I think of their smiles

When I hear courage I remember their hugs,

For courage is walking through life with a smile,
