Standing, freezing, all alone

In the shallowest part of it all.

Afraid the angels will condone

The steepest ledge from which you'll fall.

And what a fall it will soon be.

Like a tear straight from the sky.

Feeling far from feeling free,

Far from being lifted high.

But then again, why should I care?

When all you've done is lied.

I'll never wake from this nightmare

At once I knew I'd never tried.

To wake from deep inside this lake

And find you standing near.

Your presence is more than I can take

I've awakened to my earnest fear.
