The Escape
by Jareth Valentine

By moonlight many years ago,
the wizards cast their seal.
After all their suffering,
they'd finally closed the deal.
All the evils of the world
at last were locked away.
Hidden where they'd never see
the golden light of day.
The gates were locked, and Anger paced
across the dungeon floor.
Sloth sat in the corner, staring sadly at the door.
Lust and Pride amused themselves
while Envy watched the show.
Gluttony chewed on his tongue.
They had nowhere to go.
Then finally, one day light poured in,
and they were trapped no more.
A drill had split their prison,
seeking precious golden ore.
The demons howled across the world,
They had at last been freed.
They'd finally been released from jail,
By their old buddy, Greed.
