Author’s notes: Someone suggested that I should make a website dedicated to the background of my world. And so I have and I’ll try to add to it as fast as time permits. So far only the timeline of its history is posted, but I will add to it soon.
In here you will find a more detailed account of the events listed to the timeline posted there (follow the link to my profile for it).
I will not post the Last Age until I have finish “Brother Sun, Sister Moon” to avoid possible spoilers.
Lokleran and Akretera
The History of Lokleran and of the island of Akretera is divided (so far) in six ages, each of them ending with the passing of Bregadosh, the red comet. It takes 3254 years between passings and each passing is marked by a series of events as described below.
Age of Dreaming.
In the darkness between worlds, She dreamed of pasts and futures and the infinite paths that were the leaves of Her branches. Ellerian, the Dreamer, sighed and passed her fingers through the fruits, dismissing most as bitter and futile. Until her touch caressed the fragile membrane of one of them, one that shone in the twilight. She leaned closer, entranced by the azure and the emerald sparkles that sprang from the delicate sphere. Looking closer, She saw a future that was appealing.
Ellerian smiled and the dream became reality.
Waves of laughter traveled through chaos and the sphere grew from an iridescent fruit to a glorious world. Deep blue seas came to cover the surface, littered by the green jewels of myriad islands. Mountains rose on the mainland and great rivers sprang from the sharp stones, crossing valleys and forests and golden deserts.
The Goddess smiled and closed her eyes, content that all was well. In her dreams she saw winged creatures, frail and soft and sparkling like the fruits of the Ageless Tree. They sang and they flew on the shores and the valleys of a great island, and starlight filled Ellerian's heart. In her sleep she embraced the sapphire shores, and the silashaithat chirped and laughed and loved.
And all was well.
But not all dreams are pleasant; even this of a Goddess.
Another fruit ripened and grew and this was of fire. In the void between the worlds a sphere of fire grew and throbbed. The flames screamed and they were unleashed into being taking the form of a great comet traveling through space. And the skies turned red.
And so ended the Age of Dreaming.
