I opened my eyes. My whole body screamed with pain. My head throbbed, my lungs burned. It felt as if my veins pumped acid to every crevice of my body. A dark shadow was cast over me. I could vaguely make out a shape a man.
"Does it feel good mortal?" His voice it was recognizable. Who was this man?
"N-n-o." That was all I say. It took so much effort to even say that, I'm surprised that I didn't go unconscious then.
"Do you always play with your food like that?" It was a female. She seemed so distant.
"Be gone with you Uma!" His voice pierced my ears. I shrieked out in pain, but that only caused me more.
"Aw, she's hurt."
"I told you! Be gone!" I heard an earsplitting crash.
"Fine, but your one tasteless being. Torturing your prey before its dead." She said to him.
I saw his outline walk back over to my tormented body. He seemed to be staring at me, but I couldn't tell.
"Why did I let you live?" I couldn't concentrate any more. The pain was like a flood I was in the middle of and slowly being drowned in.
"What if I were to renew you? A life of eternal suffering." He began to laugh. It shook my body. I could no longer take it. I longed to be floating again.
"I I could snap your weak mortal neck now." He continued to laugh.
"What do you say?" It seemed as if he kicked my body the hardest he could. I was too weak to scream. I was too weak to live. I was finally swallowed by the darkness again.
I woke. I was stronger than before. I saw my surrounding. They were not my own. I was in a room. It was mostly black. I was laying on something soft too. The walls were white. It was small. I saw him too. My lungs did not burn as they did before. My head did not feel as if it was imploding. Not to say I was not feeling pain, I was, a hell of a lot of it too, but it was not as painful as before.
"The mortal has awakened again?" He said it in a mocking tone.
"Where am I?" I said in as fierce as a voice I could. Of coarse it hurt, but I was tired of being this thing's play toy. I still had a pang of fear in me.
"Guess." He said like he was in the mood to play.
"I'm tired of playing games." I wanted to be killed or released. Either way, it didn't matter to me. I had walked both sides.
"Games, eh?"
"Yes games, you demonic beast!" Suddenly he was in my face.
"If anyone is a demonic beast it is you! You are nothing but filthy mortal. Your presence is nothing. I shall snap your neck now if I fancy it." His playful mood was gone.
I stared at him for a moment. His eyes. they were endless pools of nothingness. They invited me into them. They wanted to be filled. I felt something touch my head and I snapped out of it.
"So you are afraid of turning into me." He said in awe. The awe quickly faded into joy.
"I am not!" I knew it was a lie, but how could he tell?
"How dare you lie straight to my face?" He had become enraged. "Foolish child."
"Get away from me you monster!" He stared at me.
"Open your mouth!" Was he mad?
"Never!" He opened my mouth with no struggle at all. I saw him bite his wrist.
"Your crazy!" I tried to say the best I could. I had forgotten my pain. He began dripping his blood into my mouth. "Drink." "No." I gargled. The blood was forming a pool in my mouth. I had no choice. I needed to drink it. It wasn't like I could spit it out. He held my mouth open. Finally I swallowed. The blood tasted better than anything I had ever drank before. It was rich. It was bitter and sweet at the same time. "Good girl." He put his wrist to my mouth and I began drinking it voraciously. After a couple of seconds I realized what I was doing. I pulled back, but my brain told me to indulge. "Vile creature! Why did you make do that?" I hated him. "Ha! It seemed that you liked it." I did indeed enjoy it. What was I thinking? No, I was human. I did not enjoy such things. "Arise now Shika." "Who the hell is Shika?" I asked agitatedly as I sat up. He dismissed me with his hand. "Time to hunt." He said. My eyes widened. "By no means am I going hunting." I didn't understand fully what he meant, but I knew it would result in death. Just then I heard a low drum and another but even more quiet. My eyes stung yet I began to see colors, as I never had before. "What is going on?" "You're being reborn Shika. You will be a vampire." The words 'you' and 'vampire' in the same sentence scared me. I began to smell new things. I began to intake things differently. I was truly being reborn.

My first hunt was the worst. I was still emotionally mortal.
