Icharus

Spread your wax-bound wings and fly
No matter what limits they give you;
Give yourself the freedom to travel however high
Without boundary or direction

Follow the sunlight; love with all of the Earth around you
All of the sky above you
With the oceans below you, send out your glee in the cry
Of the gulls your feathers come from

When your wings begin to melt, and the feathers
Those mismatched feathers fall as the snow you've never seen
Struggle, struggle as hard as you can
Against the inevitable

The updraft will keep you if you allow it
The waves will halt for your goodness
The sky will shower you with it's own wings
Even though you will not catch up to those before you
