Night of Reflection

Stare at the ceiling, shiver and shake,
Disappointed that I continue to wake.
Always starving for something more,
Never knowing what I’m looking for

Am I wrong? Am I right?
Should I just make love to myself tonight?
Such a desire to do such wrong…
A yearning for vengeance that’s burning so strong.

The man in the mirror, he’s gentle and calm,
No one can know he’s a ticking bomb.
He cries for me, and for no one else,
He’s making me begin to hate myself.

Shattered glass falls to the floor
As I destroy the friend I can’t ignore.
Love and hatred combined as one,
They share my sky as the moon and the sun.

Another breath, another day,
The daylight chases dreams away.
The tired sun, the winter sky,
The blood begins to dry.
