The girl in the mirror will never be
Anything at all like the true me.
Her smiles and laughs
Are just a mask
To hide the pain
In darkest depths.
No evidence
Of sleepless nights
Abusive thoughts
Internal fights.
She mouths the words
Everything's alright.
But it hasn't been okay
It has yet to be alright.
