Get off of my back, get away from me

I wish you would quit, stop telling me what to be

Step back, let me live, give me room to spread my wings

I’m not listening to you, I’ll learn these things

My way. In my own time, free my mind

Leave me alone, let me stumble, I’ll always find

My way in this world, nothing will bring me down

What you see before you, all dirty, muddy, brown

The colors explode before me, a painters work

I stare at these gems, unwanted by you, eyebrow quirked

They were once like me, I’ll help them up, above the cloud

And when they fall again, I’ll still be there, standing proud

If you hadn’t given me my freedom, where would I be?

I certainly wouldn’t be here, my spirit finally free.

Ok, I don’t know exactly what it’s about. Just let my emotions flow onto paper, and we all know how hard it is to capture emotions with words.
