Blackbird

The blackbird sits in the tree
watching you and me
It stays there day and night
watching all the time
It tries to hide but I know it's there
I can feel it in the air
I know why it comes
It telling me that you're not the one

It's a black bird
secrets it holds
I can read them
I can trust him
the black bird stays
there everyday
I don't listen
I know I should, he's my friend
I don't heed his warning
but I still am learning
I should know better then this
but when you capture me in your sweet kiss
I can't help but ignore the bird
and his own words

The blackbird had his sorrow
for he knows I won't be here tomorrow
I should have listened to him
but I ignored him again
I was fooled by another
but it won't happen any farther
My love wasn't who he said
now I lay on the ground..dead.
