Please wake up.
Please wake up.
I keep asking myself,
To please wake up.
I must be dreaming,
I tell myself.
Because I’m in an Ocean.
My ship’s been wrecked.
And I’m drowning.
Not from the lack of air,
But from this fact:
Something else fills my lungs
And it can’t be helped.
I’m the plant.
Breathing in poison,
That Man exhales.
And this toxin,
Floats in clouds.
Of hatred.
Of apathy.
And in return,
I give Man,
Purity.
Fresh air,
To destroy.
Slowly,
I’m losing my energy.
My sun’s been blocked out.
My soil,
Overturned.
And I’m sinking fast.
In this Ocean.
I take my last gasp,
Of toxic air.
