Collins awoke with a start, the memory of the battle flooding back to him. He tried to move his arms, but then realized that the were wrapped in a chain hooked to the ceiling. A door across the room swung open, hitting the wall with a resounding bang making Collins jump. Three robed figures strode in and walked towards another man hanging from the ceiling. Prisoners lying on the ground clutched at the figure robes as they strode past, but the guards viciously knocked them back onto the floor. Collins watched as they approached the man, they started talking with him, then motioned to one of the guards before walking away. The guards unhooked the hanging man and started to drag him off. The man started kicking wildly and through off the guards. He jumped up and started running towards the door the robed figures had come. One of the guards got back to his feet and pulled out a pistol. He fired a quick three round burst and the fleeing man pitched forward onto his face. Blood oozing from underneath his face. Collins watched the robed figures approaching him. While he still watched the dead man out of the corner of his eye. One of the robed figures grabbed Collins shirt swinging him around. He looked down at the figures, then spit at them. One of the guards slammed an armored fist into the side of his face causing him to spin. Collins spit out a broken tooth along with some blood. The robed figure motioned to the guard and then walked off. The guard, smiling wickedly like he knew something that Collins didn't unhooked him. Letting Collins drop to the floor in a heap. The guard hauled him to his feet. And proceeded to drag him off to a side door.
Collins couldn't see where he was going. His head was still swimming
from the blow the guard had given him. He could tell that he was being
dragged down a long hall. His vision was clearing enough to see that there
were skeletons spiked onto the walls. He could also see that the guard's
pistol was still loose in its holster from shooting the other prisoner.
Suddenly Collins was dropped to the floor as the guard walked over to a row
of computers and started hitting buttons. A bright multicolored light
filled the center of the room. The guard started laughing.
"Bye bye little humanoid soldier" the guard laughed as he picked up
Collins.
Collins suddenly grabbed the gun as the guard through him towards the
swirling lights. He pulled the trigger. The last thing Collins saw before
falling into the vortex was the guard falling to the floor. Three holes
ripped through his chest.
