I, and the rest of the coven were by Era's great-grand mothers tombstone. We felt a lot safer on her grounds. Imbyr braught the ouija board and cursor, and I, Whisper, braught the candles. Our coven consisted of six people. Era, Imbyr, Ocean, Skyview, Falon, and myself.
Three of us were Pagan, three Wiccan. That way it was balanced out. For Halloween we all bought "Midnight Priestess" costumes, which also served as our coven gowns. We were done trick-or-treating, so we headed over to the cemetary. Halloween night was the night when the veil between Earth and the spirit world was thinnest, so it was perfect to contact some spirits. The night before, we gathered each spirit that dwelled ar each of our homes and invited them.
So, we started by casting a circle, lighting the candles all around us,the elemental ones in their proper directions. There was one thing we forgot to do, though.
Purify it.
It was unbelievable how many spirits there were, and we talked to every one of them... but the last we all feared.
Dominic.
Yes, we had encountered him before, and believe you me, it was not a pleasent time. We didn't know what his problem was, but he wouldn't leave us alone. Now he was back again.
We couldn't just stop and close the circle. Oh no, that would have made him even more angry. We had to talk to him. All of us were praying for protection, for dominic was a very powerful and bad spirit. Not evil, just bad.
"Why wont you leave us alone?!" Cried Era, her voice shaking with fear.
On the board, the cursor moved beneath our hands.
"You all are fun." Said Skyview, repeating what was spelled out. He was new to the coven. (Of course, he got the male version of the costume.)
All of us were rather confused, but we continued talking. Skyview was pretty shaken about it all, but he was handling it well.
"Era is not the girl you loved when you were alive!" Falon yelled, her anger growing.
I suppose that made him angry. All of us felt a teeth-chattering coldness overcome us, the wind blew hard, making the candles flicker out. We sat there in the darkness. Cold. Afraid. Paranoid.
Ocean suddenly winced, and instantly our attention snapped to her.
"My stomach hurts... and I've got a suden headache." She said with a hushed voice.
"Not again..." I whispered.
This happen last time.
Era was next. She was overcome by coldness. Falon was having harsh stomach pains, and I felt dizzy. Imbyr and Skyview were the only ones left alone. They couldn't talk to him though. He refused.
Huddling together, scared of all around us, the cursor abrubtly moved... and our hands weren't on it. Then we started to see shadows, moving slowly around us. All of the effects stopped. Headaches, stomachaches, dizzyness, or anything else was gone. It was completely gone. After a while, Ocean found a matche in her pocket. She'd braught it in case a candle blew out. Lighting a few, just enough to see, we called upon another spirit, Cody, and asked what happen.
"We took care of him." He said on the board. We could all just see the grin on his face. Mentally, anyways.
We thanked them all, so very much relieved, then closed the circle and cleaned up.
"Well, wasn't that fun?" I laughed.
"Oh yeah, let me tell you." Falon replied, rolling her eyes.
"From no on," Imbyr started, "We purify the circle. :ets all get home though. Blessed be, everyone."
