The simple sweetness of love,
Rejected from reason or logic,
Bitter to taste and yet true to hold,
Can warm the coldest of hearts.

My love is here,
It does not feel the hopelessness,
Or the lies.
It closely follows his face,
And the slowest movement of his eyes.

His voice alights,
The tiny hairs upon my skin,
That burn.
I won’t allow him to know,
The truth of what he has to learn.
