Sonnet for a Wedding

My love, my life, and all I may be

I see in his eyes today.

He lies not as he looks at me

And claims devotion, come what may.

We vow to be ever true

And never consider another;

I know he loves me through and through

And in this love I smother.

I smile as he says, “I will,”

And declares he’s mine forever.

Down my spine there runs a chill,

Though I have no regrets whatsoever.

As we seal this vow with a kiss,

I know there can be no love greater than this.
