Sonnet Number Two: Hammer of the Gods

A glossy red finish teases my eyes
Tempting me to create music in my dreams.
I can feel my soul arise
And in my ears I hear the screams
Of the ringing notes, undaunted
Dancing in a solo inspired by gods.
My talent now is being flaunted
And my head it joyfully nods.
Though I know my time has come
And I must cease my playing,
A single, wavering chord I strum
As my legs begin their swaying.
I can't help but think as I walk to my car,
Have I ever played a better guitar?
