First of the "Repost" series. I decided to repost some of my early poems and to retire others. Mostly, this is for reference in how my grasp of language and rhythm has sharpened.
A Kid's Normal Day was written in the sixth grade, along with most of this poetry. I was bored in class, if you can't tell.

A Kid's Normal Day

It's a hard life,
He thought to himself,
knowing others felt that way,
Knowing it could not be changed.

He sat in class,
As others read aloud,
Waiting for that faithful sound
That freed him from that cell.

He glanced at the clock
That hung on the wall,
It read 1:00,
He sighed as his name was called.

He walked to the front
And read his report
The class claped
And he sat down.

The teacher would drone on,
He would fall asleep twice,
Each time waking up
To a horrible sight.

His teacher would yell
And lash out at him,
And the others would laugh
As he yelped and sat up.

The teacher would sigh
And tell him off,
But it happened again,
He was in so much trouble.

The bell would finally rung,
What a beautiful sound,
And the all would rush out
And he would saunter down the lane.

He would walk to his house,
And throw down his bag,
And run up the stairs
And hide in his room.

He thought of all this
As he sat in his desk
And waited for his relese
From the terrible jail.

And the bell finally rang
And he ran down the stairs
And he sauntered down the lane
And her walked to his house.
