START
"This better not be another one of Marion's wild goose chases, because I'm getting really sick of being played." said Nick, as he walked down an alleyway with Eliza and Eric. The three walked with caution, taking in the area and trying to notice anything unusual, or possibly anyone.
"She said some Demon cult was making a trade tonight with another cult for some rare thingy mabob. And if the trade was made it'd mean bad news for all of us." said Eric, glancing around.
"So now the three of us have to take on two entire demon cults?" asked Eliza.
Eric turned to her and grinned, "Not confident in your abilities, eh?" he questioned. Eliza gave him a disgusted look.
"I infiltrated an entire heavily guarded facility on my own." stated Eliza.
"And I lay in bed and watch cartoons on saturday morning." stated Eric.
"What the hell does that have to do with anything?" she asked annoyed.
"Exactly." said Eric. Eliza scoffed at him and looked away.
"Hey, love birds." said Nick, interrupting them and pointing across the street. They were at the end of the alleyway now and looked across the street to see two black limosuines parked in front of a small italian restaurant. Two different demon clans stood outside the closed establishment and held two briefcases as they talked amongst themselves.
"So how are we going to do this?" asked Eliza.
"Well, let's see, we could..." started Eric, but he was interrupted.
"I have an idea." stated Nick. "Balcony." he said, dissipating into the air. Eric and Eliza looked from the dark smoke and up to the Balcony right above the restaurant.
"That was fast." stated Eliza.
"Guess he's learning." said Eric. Nick leaned over it and reached down, grabbing the briefcases. "I'll take these, thanks." he said, then stood back up. "All yours!" he said waving to Eric and Eliza.
The demons turned to see the two there, then turned back up to the balcony which Nick was now missing from. The demon clans turned to Eric and Eliza and snarled angrily. "I don't think I like this plan." stated Eric.
"I think I'd like watching those cartoons right about now." said Eliza looking a bit nervous. The demons rushed at them.

Eric, Nick, and Eliza teleported into another alleyway on a side street. Eric and Eliza fumbling as they reappeared. They regained their balance and turned back to Nick, looking angry. "What the hell was that?" questioned Eliza.
"Hey, I got us out of there didn't I?" stated Nick.
"You left us to be Cannon Fodder!" stated Eric.
"I did not leave you. I simply used you as a distraction. I pulled you both out, didn't I?" stated Nick.
"Yeah, right before they were about to kill us!" snarled Eliza. Nick walked forward with the briefcases and put them down.
"We got what we wanted didn't we?" stated Nick.
"What's in them?" asked Eric. The three circled around them and opened one up, which was empty. They opened up the other one to find a familiar object. It was another crystal, just like the one Eliza had, only a different color. It shined a bright jade hue.
"Son of a bitch!" shouted Eliza, reaching into the briefcase.
"What the hell is it?" asked Eric.
"Something we DEFINATELY need." stated Eliza.
"It's like the other one you have." said Eric.
"Yeah, how many are there?" asked Nick. Eliza stared at the crystal, turning it around in her hands.
"There's 4 in total. I...We now have 2." said Eliza, not taking her gaze off of it. Eric leaned in and began to stare at it too.
"What's it for? I mean, what's the big deal with you and these crystals?" asked Eric. Eliza snatched the crystal out of Eric's immediate view and turned to him.
"That's none of your business." she angrily replied.
"Excuse me? We're out here risking our lives for this thing. And Marion seemed to know something about them too. They're obviously not just for your own personal agenda. So tell us what's going on." said Nick. Eliza looked back and forth from both of them noticing the stern look in their eyes, then sighed in defeat.
"I'm not sure yet. I'm looking into it. Alls I know is that there are 4 of them and they hold a great power. Where I used to work, I found out Jasmine had listed and order for the retrieval of these crystals at all costs. She wants them more than anything else right now. So they have to be powerful. Or who knows, maybe they're the key to defeating her. I don't know, but I just know we need them." stated Eliza.
"Why didn't you tell us this before?" asked Eric.
"Because, I didn't know if I could trust you. Jasmine has a lot of people working for her you know. They pretend to be on your side, get you to let them in, then bam, you're locked away in a..." started Eliza but she stopped.
"Whoa, sorry. I didn't know." said Eric.
"You ok?" asked Nick.
"Yeah, I'm fi--..." stated Eliza, but her head spun around momentarily. She stumbled forward a bit, mouth gaped open.
"What's wrong?" questioned Eric, running forward to grab her. She looked forward and saw Eric and Nick, but in a blinks time she saw two of the Demon Cult brethern standing before her, grasping her.
"No! Let go!" she screamed, elbowing one of them in the face and kneeing the other in the stomach. She ran back a bit. Eric flew into the alley wall, cracking his head against the concrete surface. He grabbed his chin in pain. Nick stumbled forward, clutching his stomach and fell to his knees, outreaching one hand to retain his fall.
Eliza's head riddled her with pain. Her eyes felt heavy, as she blinked them repeatedly, trying to make out the reality of what lie in front of her. The entire world in front of her appeared to be a dark nightmare. The sky was littered with demons flying around like it was common acceptance. The buildings lie in ruins and the streets littered with the remains of various life forms. Her head ached with pain. Another blink and she then saw Eric and Nick hunched in pain.
"What the hell was that for?" asked Eric, holding the back of his head, and his chin in pain.
"I'm...I'm sorry. I don't know what..." she said, but Eric tilted upward and screamed out in pain, holding his head in agony. He hunched over, his clothes pushing off in all directions as if they were about to rip off his body. He hollered out another scream of pain as a large shockwave let off from him and sent Eliza and Nick, along with the contents of the alleyway flying out into the ajoining streets. Eric panted loudly as he looked up slowly, and noticed huge crater-like indents in the walls of both buildings in the alleyway.
He looked down both ends of the alley to see dumpsters and garbage cans lining the streets overturned, along with Eliza and Nick laying unconscious on both ends. He tried to gather his strength and ran down one end to Eliza. He kneeled down next to her, putting his arm under her head and supporting her up. She opened her eyes slowly to see him.
"Wha...what happened?" she asked.
"I don't know...I just..." he said, turning to look down the other alley to see if Nick had come to as well. He noticed Nick was now gone. Before he could look around though, the two turned as they heard another howl of pain. Eliza and Eric looked behind them to see Nick appear and clutch as well. He sprung up straight, his eyes pure black, as his hands began to glow a red energy around them.
Nick screamed out as he shot red beams from both hands, sending them flying into Both of his friend's chests. The two flew back across the street into another building and landed with a thud. The energy retreated into Nick's body and he fell over in pain.
"Wha...what's happe...happening to me?!" he screamed out.
Eric and Eliza slowly drudged themselves upward, all 3 scroll bearer's in equal states of pain. "We...we need to get out of here..." stated Eric. The three of them got to their feet and began to retreat down the street. Pan up, standing atop a nearby rooftop, a young woman stands wearing a dark black leather outfit, with long brown hair and dark brown eyes. Pan to her face, as she gives a small grin.
The door to Eric's apartment opened as the three Scroll Bearer's drudged in and sat down in various spots. Eric layed his head against the kitched table and held it in agony, while Nick layed down on the couch with his feet bent over the side. Eliza's elbows leaned against the table as her fingers massaged the sides of her head above her ears.
"What the hell just happened?" asked Eliza, annoyed.
"Not so loud...ug..." said Eric in pain.
Nick sat up slightly, "Really though, what the hell was that?" he asked.
"All 3 of us having Power shorts at once?" asked Eliza.
"Maybe we're too overstressed and lost focus?" asked Nick.
"Again I stress the all 3 of us at once?" stated Eliza. Eric rubbed his head and sat up a bit.
"Maybe it's a side-effect of having these powers? Or maybe our powers are evolving?" he stated.
"Well they better evolve quickly because I don't feel like going through that again." said Eliza, getting up and looking through the cabinets for some asprin.
"Maybe we should talk to Marion?" stated Nick.
"Yeah, if we could ever get a hold of her." said Eliza, running some water and taking the asprin. Eric sat at the table looking serious and thinking to himself.
"If our powers are evolving though. Then I'm guessing everyone elses are too." said Eric.
"What's your point?" asked Nick.
"Who knows what kind of damage could have been caused, both public and personal." said Eric. He thought for a second then stood up from the table. "I need to find Jess." he said, grabbing his coat and heading out.
A long beautiful beach, the tide rising up and down against the sand. The cool night breeze spraying the ocean's mist upon the land. The moon's gentle glaze making the sand sparkle. Jesse looked around confusingly, before walking down the beach towards another person. His attire being a pair of blue denim jeans, and a white long sleeve shirt with red sleeves and and 8 on the front. He walked towards the other person cautiously, wondering where he was and not sure what was going on.
The young man standing on the beach, shirtless and in only a rolled up pair of blue denim jeans, was staring out at the ocean, gazing upon it. He turned to Jesse as he approached. Jesse was surprised to see it was Eric. The pale light having made it hard to make out who it was. Jesse felt relieved now and approached with more comfort.
"Eric, what are you doing here?" asked Jesse. Eric looked Jesse up and over.
"Taking in the view." he replied. Jesse stood next to him and turned to look at the view himself.
"It is beautiful, isn't it." said Jesse.
"Yeah." said Eric.
"Where...are we?" asked Jesse. Eric turned to him again.
"Does it matter?" replied Eric.
"I guess not." said Jesse. The two stood in silence for a short while, just staring out into the distance. Jesse wasn't sure what was going on, or where he was, but he didn't entirely mind now.
"Eric?" asked Jesse after some time.
"Yeah?" he said.
"Where are the others?" he finally questioned. Eric turned to face him, the two looked at one another momentarily. Eric smiled and approached Jesse closer and put his hands on his upper arms. Jesse looked down at both hands holding him. He looked forward at Eric's glistening chest, and then up to his face, his hair slightly covering one of his eyes. Suddenly, Eric's grip tightened.
"Eric?" Jesse questioned.
"What? Isn't this what you wanted?" stated Eric, tightening his grip even more, hurting Jesse's arms now.
"Eric, what are you doing?" shouted Jesse, struggling now to break free of his grasp.
"Isn't this what you want? You little piece of shit!" shouted Eric. Jesse looked terrified at the angry Eric. "I'm sick of you always following me around like a love struck puppy dog and forcing me to act like your friggin caretaker. Get the hell over it, you're a loser and no one cares about you. No one has a reason to. Stop following me everywhere I go and leave me the hell alone!" shouted Eric, kneeing Jesse in the stomach then tossing him back onto the sand. He stared Angrily at Jesse for a moment, then turned and walked away.
Jesse clenched his pained stomach and layed there on the beach, watching Eric walk away. Tears slowly forming in his eyes slightly. He layed there and didn't move.
A momment later and Jesse sprung up for his bed, sweating a cold sweat. He panted loudly and looked around, taking in his surroundings. He was in the small backroom of the construction site. He realized finally it was just a dream. He layed back down slowly and stared up at the ceiling, trying to calm himself down.
"Jess?" said a voice, as a door opened from the other room. Jesse got up out of the small bed as Eric entered the room hastily. "Jess, you're alright?" asked Eric, looking Jesse over to make sure he was ok.
"E...Eric?" asked Jesse slightly disoriented and confused.
"Are you alright? Did anything happen with your powers?" asked Eric.
"My powers? What do you mean?" asked Jesse. Suddenly, a large white flash hit Jesse's head and he stumbled back in pain as he had another vision. He saw the exact same moment in time as was progressing right now, only from a different angle, an angle focusing behind Eric. The Vision showed a weapon concealed behind Eric's Back in his palm, a blade which he intended to use on Jesse. The flash left and Jesse regained his sight.
"Jess? What's wrong? Are you ok?" said a concerend Eric, approaching Jesse, but Jesse backed away.
"No! Stay back!" he shouted, scared now.
"Jess, what's going on? What's wrong?" said Eric, approaching slower now. Jesse stepped back against the wall of the room.
"Stay Back!!" he shouted angrily as he reached to the side and grabbed a crate and smashed it into Eric's chest causing him to fall back. Jesse ran past him and out of the warehouse. Eric clutched his chest in pain and turned back towards where Jesse had run out, unable to stop him.
--
Jesse ran down the block, slowing down after he had rounded the corner. He continued on but finally leaned against a wall as his head began to spin again and another white flash hit him. He saw everyone now, Eliza, Nick, and Eric all crowding him in an unfamiliar room. They blocked his escape and all had smiles on their faces as they approached him, raising their arms, weapons in hand, as they brang them down across him, beating him and laughing about it. Jesse screamed out and fell slowly towards the floor, dropping down across the wall, tears rolling down his eyes as he lived the moment through the vision, feeling the brutal attacks on him by his so called friends. More and more images flooded his head, images he couldn't bare to believe. Finally, the images stopped for the time being, and he just sat there, alone and empty.
--
"Didn't she leave a phone number or anything for us?" asked Nick, as he paced around the kitchen of Eric's apartment impatiently.
"No, but we hardly have time to worry about Marion. If she's not around to help us, we're just going to have to figure this one out on our own." said Eliza.
"And how do you suppose we do that? Wait until our powers decide to take a 2nd swing at it and kill us or someone else?" stated Nick in a snotty tone.
"Look just shut up and try to find Eric and Jesse. I'm going to go see what I can find out about this crap." said Eliza, grabbing her jacket.
"Find out from where?" asked Nick.
"I have my sources." said Eliza.
"What is with the women in this group being so damn secretive?" stated Nick.
"What's with the men being such arrogant pricks." said Eliza heading out. Nick sighed.
--
Eric slowly came out of the warehouse, still gripping his chest in pain, bruised a bit after some of the wood from the crate had cut him a bit. He walked out and looked around, trying to find Jesse. He headed down the street as fast as he could.
--
Jesse sat huddled in a corner now, not in the same area as earlier. He had his head buried in his knees and his arms gripping them tightly, rocking himself slowly, shivering and stuttering. The images he kept seeing randomly flew into his head, never giving him much peace or time to think.
"They're all against you, you know." said a voice. Jesse's eyes slowly turned in the direction of the voice, but he didn't move at all otherwise. Out of the shadow's stepped forward the woman from earlier, clad in leather pants, a black top, and a thigh length leather jacket over it, with long brown hair and brown eyes. She approached Jesse and kneeled down next to him and smiled. "You've always been alone. We both know that. And you always will be. No one cares for you. How could they? Look at you. Cowering and quivering in an alleyway, sleeping in abandoned warehouses, running away constantly from your supposed friends, doing nothing but getting yourself into trouble and requiring saving, you're pathetic. And they know it. You're a liability, you can't be trusted. You've given them no reason to." said the woman sincerely. Jesse just continued bobbing himself and stuttering as he stared at her.
"Even as we speak, they're coming for you right now. They know what you are. You know what you are. Just like your father knew. He tried to kill you, your best friend tried to kill you, and they'll try to kill you too. You're not safe, You never will be. You're nothing." she stated. Still Jesse just sat there in the same fashion unmoving. "Hmph." she said, shrugging him off and turning away.
--
"I've read through the text numerous times, there is nothing on such an occurence in here." said an older man with white hair and glasses. He was wearing an odd chinese komono.
"Are you sure? That book categorizes all about our powers. It's gotta say something. Let me look at it." said Eliza reaching for it.
"It's written in an ancient language you'll never be able to comprehend in a thousand years young lady." said the man, pulling the book away.
"Then re-read it again and tell me what the problem is." said Eliza.
"I told you, there is nothing in this book about your dilema. While your powers will grow soon, this is not the time, nor the way." said the man, retreating behind a desk to put the book away.
"Then what is doing this?" asked Eliza.
"Could be a multitude of things. Perhaps a spell?" asked the man, looking up questioningly.
"A spell? You think Jasmine? She put a spell on us, of course." said Eliza.
"No, the Trinity do not possess the ability to directly interfere with the will of the Scroll Powers. Unless..." stated the man, coming to an idea, he reached for the book once more.
"Unless what?" asked Eliza. He flipped through some pages and put his finger on one of the pages, moving it down as he read some of the text, searching for a particular part.
"Unless, she has one of you doing it for her." he stated, looking up at her. Eliza looked surprised.
--
Eric continued down another street, searching around but finally gave in and collapsed on a porch of a nearby house to rest. He bowed his head in defeat, his long hair hanging down. A moment later Eric raised his head as he heard an odd sound. He looked up to see a shroud of black mist appear in front of him. It dissipated into the air and Nick stood in front of him. Nick looked around confused a bit and then looked forward at Eric.
"Wow, I can't believe that worked..." he said.
"What worked?" asked Eric.
"I was trying to find you. And well, I basically just said 'I want to be where Eric is right now.' and concentrated hard on imaging you, and poof I was here. Surprised it worked." said Nick.
"Wow, your powers are growing." said Eric.
"Seems so. Did you find Jesse?" asked Nick.
"Yeah, he gave me a nice souvenir to remember him by too." said Eric, pulling his shirt back a bit to reveal the wound on his chest.
"Jesse did that to you? Why would he do that? What happened?" asked Nick, sitting down next to Eric on the porch now.
"I don't know. I found him at the warehouse again and he just freaked on me again. I don't know what his problem is. Did I do something to him that I don't know about?" asked Eric.
"I don't know, you spend more time with him than I do." said Nick. "Anyway, Eliza is talking to one of her 'sources' about this whole power whack thing. Don't know what that will turn up though." said Nick.
"'Sources'? What is with these scroll chicks and their mysterious charade?" asked Eric.
"Why are both of us such arrogant pricks?" stated Nick.
"I'll be arrogant. You can be the prick." said Eric, then starting to get up. Nick gave a half hearted smirk to that comment and stood up as well.
"Think your poof magic will work to find Jesse?" asked Eric.
"I can try, but no guarantees. We should probably get Eliza first though." said Nick.
"Well then start poofing." said Eric.
--
The leather clad woman paced around the still crouched Jesse. "Aren't you tired of being such a worthless peon? Tired of being hunted and used? Tired of having people walk all over you and make you nothing? Make a choice. You have the power, use it. Make them pay, become the hunter instead of the hunted. Return the fear and hatred they've shown you. Make them suffer for what they've done. Why should they have everything, the love, the friendships, the life, the happiness while you sit back and have nothing? If you can't have it, no one should. Take it from them. Make them pay." she said, reaching forward and brushing her hand through his hair. "You know he's coming to kill you. You thought he was the one you could trust, and you thought wrong. You saw the future, what he is, what he'll become. You saw the visions, he's out for blood and he's not going to stop until you're dead. You thought you could save him from his fate, but you can't. Are you going to let him kill you? Are you going to end your miserable existance and have your life have meant nothing? Are you going to let him have lied to you and used you like that?" she said. She stood up.
"Or are you going to take back your life, what's rightfully yours. Are you going to be strong?" she asked, reaching her hand out towards him. Jesse sat there still, looking up at her now, moving his head slightly. He stared at her eyes, then reached his gaze down to her hand. His hand slowly reached for it.
--
The dark mist appeared once more, larger now in an old factory. It pushed away to reveal Eric, Eliza, and Nick holding hands together. They let go of one another and looked around. The place was dark and kind of creepy, it obviously hadn't been used in some time.
"Is this where Jesse is?" asked Eliza.
"Shouldn't your poof take us right to him like it did with me?" asked Eric.
"I don't know, I still don't even know how my power works exactly." said Nick. The three spread apart somewhat and looked around the empty place for any signs of life.
"Why can't we ever end up in a luxurious spa or something? Why does it always have to be old abandoned warehouses and factories? It seems almost redundant." stated Eliza, while looking around.
"Maybe the people upstairs get a chuckle out of cliche." stated Eric, doing the same.
"I guess so." said Nick.
"So I'm thinking you should try that whole poof mojo again and focus harder this time." said Eric.
"But why? Then you'd miss all the fun." said a voice. The three turned to see the leather clad woman come walking across a catwalk above.
"Who are you?" asked Nick.
"Where's Jesse!" shouted Eric.
"He's right here. Wanna say hi?" she asked. Jesse came out from behind her and stared at the three.
"Jesse!" shouted Eric. "Are you ok?" he asked. Jesse closed his eyes slowly and sighed, then opened them. The woman turned her head to Eric, Eric's hands stretched out and flung foward. The valves on the gas pipes nearby flew off and steam came rushing out of them. Jesse raised his hand into the air, and the steam all formed together in the air, the moisture from it massing together and slowly forming into a large mound of liquid. Eric regained control of himself finally. "What's going on?" he asked, looking at his hands, wondering what just happened.
"It's her! She's doing it. She's the one who's been forcing our powers!" stated Eliza, finally catching on.
"What is she?" asked Nick.
"Some kind of Demon?" asked Eric. But, before anyone could reply Jess shot his hand forward and the liquid solidified and slammed forward towards them. The three lept out of the way as the ice smashed against the hard floor. Pieces of ice flying everywhere, one large chunk slicing across Eliza's leg, gashing it open.
"Ahh!" she yelled out, falling to the floor in pain. Eric slammed against the floor, his hands outright absorbing the impact from it. He turned back and stared up at Jesse.
"Jesse! What are you doing?!" he shouted. Jesse ignored him and focused again, raising his arm once more, the ice lifted off the ground, all the pieces flying up with it and reforming, melting in the air into the large pool once more. Eric stood up and approached Jesse from below. "Jesse! Stop this!" he shouted. Jesse ignored him once more and shot the liquid down towards him, but he couldn't escape it this time, the liquid formed around him from all directions concealing around him, hardening slowly as it seeped around every inch of his body, squeezing him in the process. Eric yelled out in pain. "Jesse! Stop!!" he screamed, being squeezed harder by the constantly reforming and solidifying liquid.
"Jesse! Stop this! We're your friends!" shouted Eliza.
"What are you crazy? She's the badguy! Not us!" shouted Nick, pointing at the woman. Jesse lept down from the catwalk and landed on the ground below. He slowly got up and approached Eric, staring at him coldly.
"Give me a reason." he stated. Eric looked at him in pain and confusion as he was still being squeezed.
"What...?" he stuttered out.
"Did you really think I'd just let you use me and then kill me?" asked Jesse as he approached closer.
"Wha...at are you...ou...talki...ing abou...ut...??" mumbled Eric in serious pain and having trouble breathing.
Eliza tried to get up but her leg was far too wounded to allow her to walk. Nick wasn't though, he slowly got up, trying not to be too noticeable as he started towards the back, trying to come up from behind Jesse. Jesse reached his hand back and some of the liquid flew off of Eric and straight into Nick's mouth, lodging itself in his throat, choking him. He fell to his knees clutching his throat, trying to breathe.
The woman stood up on the catwalk and just watched everything unfold, smiling at it all. "Jesse you have to stop this! We're not your enemy! She is! She's been controlling us, our powers! She's controlling you too!" shouted Eliza.
"You can't lie to me. I saw the visions. I've seen the future. I know what you are." he said, staring at Eric.
"J..e...s...e...I..." stated Eric, barely able to speak now. Nick collapsed onto the floor, writhing in agony.
"JESSE STOP YOU'RE GOING TO KILL THEM!!" shouted Eliza, starting to try and crawl on the floor towards them. The woman lept down now as well in front of Eliza and kicked her across the face.
"No spoiling the fun. Just wait your turn to die." she stated, smiling. Jesse stared at Eric, cold, uncaring, closing his fist almost completely. The liquid solidifying and ready to snap Eric's bones. He stared Into Eric's eyes. A moment passed and suddenly Jesse's eyes widened. A white flash hit him and he saw Eric, lying on the ground, badly wounded, outreaching his hand. They were on the roof of a large building. Jesse stood in the center, he looked upon Eric and smiled, reaching his hand out as well, then looked up at the sky. Another white flash and he was returned to the present. He stared onto Eric in front of him and shivered. His hand opened and fell to his side. The water collapsed around Eric to the floor. Nick coughed up all the water onto the floor as well, gagging and breathing heavily. Eric fell down as well, barely able to move his body. Jesse fell to his knees and just stared at Eric.
"I'm...I'm sorry..." he stated lowly. Suddenly, the leather clad woman came up from the side and backhanded Jesse across the face, knocking him back.
"So am I." she stated.
--
"I should have known better than to expect you to be able to come through. You're pathetic, and you always will be. You're nothing, you hear me?! You're nothing!" she shouted, moving forward and grabbing him by the shirt and lifting him up. Now, let's see if you can cheat death a fourth time eh? She stared into his eyes and his arm outstretched, the liquid flying up once more and ushering towards them, towards Jesse.
A split second later, a large two by four came crashing across the back of the woman's knee's. She fell forward into Jesse, both of them falling forward, the water splashing against the ground once more. Eliza dropped the piece of wood, and fell back herself, having kneeled behind her, using all her strength to limp to the position she had.
The woman turned back and saw Eliza and snarled, getting up. "Worthless trash." she shouted, getting up and kicking Eliza back once more. She turned around to Jesse once more, only to be greeted by his fist to her face.
"I wouldn't talk." he stated. She lurched back and and turned towards him again, she felt her lip, now bleeding. She turned to Eric and his body sprung upwards. Jesse flew back across the room into a pillar. Her head turned to Nick now, he sprung upwards. His hands glowing a dark red as a large light flew out from both of them and crashed into the fallen Jesse's Chest, causing him to cringe in pain.
She turned again and approached Jesse, Nick slumping to the floor now. She walked past the others and came over to Jesse. "Now, where were we." she said, looking into his eyes. His hand outreached again and the liquid once again flew up, moving towards them. Jesse watched it, trembling as it approached, he gritted his teeth and turned his head to meet her gaze. He angrily looked upon her.
"Want my power? Fine!" he shouted, his hand dropped and his eyes widened, the woman's head lurched backwards with an impact as she let out a gasp of shock. Her eyes flickered completely white. She moaned in agony, her heading shifting in all directions, her forehead beaming with energy. She screamed out in pain. Finally, she was blown back slightly and collapsed onto the floor besides Jesse. The energy dissapeared, and Jesse's forehead lurched back now with an impact, his eyes closing. A moment later he slowly opened them. He looked around, and started to get up, approaching the others.
"Are you ok?" he asked, attending to each of the three to see if they were ok. "I'll call an ambulance." he stated, starting to get up.
"What...what did you do to her?" asked Eliza.
"She tried to control my mind to control my power. I just gave her my other power instead." stated Jesse. Suddenly, a low moaning could be heard. Everyone turned to see the woman slowly waking up.
"Wh...whe...ere...am I?" she stated, looking up. Jesse got up and approached her, kneeling down next to her. She looked up at him. "Who...are you? Where am I?" she stated.
"Jess?" asked Eric in a low voice.
"It's ok. It's over. I can feel her." he stated. "It's ok, everything's going to be ok. Can you tell me your name?" he stated.
"Alexis...Alexis Brandon." she stated. She stared up at him confused and disoriented.
--
Everyone was back at Eric's apartment now. But, everyone was in less than favorable shape. Alexis was there with them. "The last thing I remember before any of this was going to meet my boyfriend downtown when these men approached me...and then...oh god that woman..." she stated.
"It's ok, it's ok, just calm down. You're safe now." said Eric.
"So she's the psychic girl we failed to save?" asked Nick, drinking some coffee.
"Huh?" stated Eliza.
"Jasmine must have brainwashed her and sent her after us." stated Eric.
"So, you all have powers too?" asked Alexis.
"Yeah. They're a barrel of fun huh." stated Nick.
"What about this...Jasmine...though? What if she comes after me again?" stated Alexis.
"Don't worry. Marion...our friend just called. She's coming now, she's going to take you somewhere safe." stated Eric. "She's gonna take that crystal too by the way to store it with the other." said Eric, looking at Eliza. Eliza didn't look too pleased with that.
"Where is this magical safe haven she seems to have for everything and everyone but us?" stated Eliza in a rather hissy tone.
"Trying to comfort the innocent girl here, remember?" stated Eric. Eliza turned away in disgust.
They all continued on, talking about random things, Alexis however left them and went outside. Jesse sat out on a curb near a parking lot by himself. She walked over and stood next to him.
"Thank you." she said. Jesse turned to look up at her briefly.
"For what?" he asked. She sat down next to him.
"For saving me." she stated. "You could have killed me...I probably deserved that...I'm sorry for what I did." she apologized.
"It wasn't your fault." he said.
"Those things I said, and did, it's all a blur, but...I didn't mean them." she said.
"Don't worry about it." he stated.
"Back there...you fought my power...no one's ever done that." she stated. He didn't respond. "You may not know it, but you are a lot stronger than you think. I've seen into your mind. Your love is your greatest weapon you know. It's not your weakness." she said. She looked at him, he was shivering a bit still.
"Are you...ok?" she asked.
"Yeah..." he stated.
"It's those...visions...isn't it? The ones you gave to me..." she asked. He didn't reply. "It must be painful..." she stated. He still didn't respond. She reached her hand up to his face, running it across the side slowly, then up through his hair a bit. She placed her palm lightly against him, and closed her eyes. Before he could object, a white aura passed from her and into him. He closed his eyes and gasped at the power that entered him. Both opened their eyes. She removed her hand, and he turned to her.
"Wh...what was that?" he asked.
"Is it still painful?" she asked. Jesse paused momentarily, then realized that the visions weren't plaguing his mind anymore. His mind was at ease.
"What did you do?" he asked, very confused and feeling very odd.
"A Mental setitive. To put your mind at ease, so you can bare them." she stated.
"Is it...permanant?" he asked.
"I don't know..." she said. They sat there in silence for a moment.
"Thanks." he finally said.

A car pulled off with Marion and Alexis inside it, driving away to take Alexis somewhere safe. Eliza and Nick pulled off in her car shortly after, heading home. It was starting to get darker out now, the sun was going down. Eric came out from the house and walked over towards Jesse, clutching his arms around his chest having forgotten his jacket, it was a bit chilly out. He walked over towards Jesse and sat down beside him.
"I'm sorry." said Jesse right away.
"It's ok, you were being controlled. You don't have to apolo..." said Eric but he was cut off.
"I wasn't..." stated Jesse.
"Huh...?" asked Eric, a bit confused.
"Back there...I wasn't being controlled by Alexis. It was my own free will..." stated Jesse. Eric was a bit shocked at this.
"But, why...?" he asked.
"You wouldn't unerstand." said Jesse. Eric stood up now, and looked less than pleased.
"I'm growing tired of this. You keep running away from me all the time, never telling me what's bothering or even what's going on. Now you try to kill me? What is your problem? I'm trying to be you friend!" shouted Eric.
Jesse stared forward at the ground. "I know that now...I can't explain it." he said. He stood up now though and faced Eric. "Look, I know I've been a jerk. You've been there for me this whole time, and I see that now. I don't deserve anything from you. Least of all your forgiveness. But, I just can't explain it to you Eric. I can't." said Jesse.
Eric gazed into Jesse's eyes for a moment, his face a blank expression. "What did I do to you? Just tell me that?" asked Eric.
"You didn't do anything..." replied Jesse.
"Then why...?" asked Eric.
"You couldn't understand." said Jesse.
"Give me a chance." said Eric.
"I can't..." said Jesse. Eric stared once more for a moment, then scowled and turned and headed back towards the house. He reached the door and opened it, walking inside. He paused there in the doorway for a moment. Finally, he sighed.
"Are you coming or do you intend to freeze out here?" he shouted out, his head turned slightly, but not looking back. Jesse turned his head back and looked at Eric. He hesitated, then got up and followed him inside. Eric walked inside and left the door open for him. Jesse went inside, closing the door behind him.
Pan up to the sun nearly set now, an orangey red glow filling the sky across the city. The sun finally fades into the darkness, fading out and away.
