Surrendering the Sword

Slowly I fade into darkness
Closing my eyes slightly
They have became so heavy today
Still stinging, it soothes to close them
I thought about the world today
Where I am and what I have done
I know now that I am nothing here
So many things have gone wrong
Before I would fight for so much
Tonight when I lay my head to rest
Along it, I lay down my sword and such
No more shall I fight, I have no reason
Pathetic really, this mortal
Still, it will all be done with soon
For I lower my head to the pillow
And my heart races til finally.Nothing
