Sunset over Miami

The daylight fades,
Time ticking through symbolic clocks.
The movers come,
To take away my perfect blue sky.
And why must I leave?
Because, it's time to move on.
Lost in thought, I hardly notice the stores closing.
Is everybody happy now?
I watch the people walk into their homes.
Lights blink out,
In unison.
It's too late to turn back.
As I walk away,
I whisper over my shoulder.
