I love my father and would never want to kill him. I did this poem in the point-of-view of a character I came up with. If you of someone you know is being abused, please get help.

Patricide

They keep asking me

Do I feel guilt

I just killed a man

But I have no remorse

They keep asking me

Do I feel pain

You were my father

But I have no fondness

For you

Father of mine

Bu blood if not by deed

Definitely not by deed

Abuser of children

Actually,

Just one child

Me

Mother died in birth with me

You said that made me a murderer

And you would make me pay

And you did

I paid in blood

You beat me

Whipped me

Neglected me

Physically

And mentally

Tortured me

I didn’t reveal my torment to anyone

I just bided my time

Knowing

One day

I’d get my revenge

And I did

They keep asking me

Why I don’t care

The answer is simple

You didn’t
