Nighttime Jazz

The kind of music
that you only appreciate
when the sun sets.
The mournful harmonica
mixed with the jazzy alto-sax
makes the perfect soundtrack for stargazing.
I remove my headphones
as we finally escape the city,
crossing the bridge, the moonlight spilling
across the vacant sailboats.
Two lonely girls step out of the car
and silently look at the
red planet in the sky.
According to astrology books,
Mars is my lucky planet.
As the harmonica's
last haunting notes fade,
I couldn't agree more.
