Yeah, this is another Doukojian story that I’m starting. I really should stop starting stories, I have too many of them I hafta write already. ^_^;; And just so ya know, almost all my stories(Which does not include poems) on are interrelated in a way. Meaning, they share a character(Even if you don’t realize it) or are from the same world. AKA: The Planet Doukoji. Well, now that that’s outta the way...
This story is set in a country in Doukoji called ‘Kapuri’ There are many countries on Doukoji, and to list just a few just in case I mention them later...
Kapuri, Rejimeji, Koro, Udaki, Jeima, Iko, Ealia, Lexia, Minzin, Wido, Akia, Zima, Corba, Kalai, Jyakomo, Daro, etc... To list just a few. ^_^;; Now, onto the story!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, there lived a girl named Ekira. When Ekira was a child, she was adored and revered. She was adorable. Adorable and incredibly strong. She was not only a fighter, but a sorceress as well. The most unusual thing about her is that even in adulthood, Ekira fought in a dress. A frilly, mint green dress. For her fifth birthday, she received a magical staff from her mother. She was told that no one but her, Ekira, could use that staff without being burned. Ekira, as a child, was optimistic and strong, and believed that everyone, no matter how bad they might seem, had a good side.
Well, like it does with most people, the transition from child to adult changed Ekira greatly. She was no longer the peace-loving girl she was as a child. She still only fought for good, but as an adult, she also killed for good. Her thinking changed as well. She didn’t care if you had a good side or not, if you were hurting innocent people, you deserved death. Well, three weeks after her thirtieth birthday, whilst patrolling the dimensional highway, as it was called then, another great sorcerer challenged her. She accepted. She lost. She died.
Her family and friends took her staff and protected it for years, awaiting the return of her reincarnation, which was prophesied to be brought to them exactly two hundred and forty six years after Ekira’s death. It was prophesied that her reincarnation would return, defeat the descendent of the evil sorcerer that killed Ekira and set free the numerous dimensions that he had enslaved. ...Well, the prophesy was half right...
~*~*~*~Present day Kapuri, at Shin Sein School for Girls~*~*~*~
“For the love of the goddesses on high, don’t they ever get tired of beating me up...?” Sighed a girl as she observed a group of wannabe rebels come her way. Said young girl was sixteen, and had straight, shoulder-length sea green hair. She also had very dark, violet eyes and very light, sky blue skin. She was short, at sixteen she was only 4’11. Her name was Ska Lon.
“Give it up, you jerks, you know I never bring money or valuables to school.” She said with a tired sigh. This was the third time this week that particular gang had roughed her up, looking for money. It was getting old.
“Maybe you should, then we wouldn’t hafta go empty handed every time we beat the crap outta you!” The leader of the gang, a girl with brown hair in pigtails and orangish-brown skin said. She snapped her fingers and two very big, very strong looking men started advancing on Ska.
“Hey! Knock it off!” A new voice said. Another girl with long mint green hair that went halfway down her back, light periwinkle eyes and very light, lavender skin walked up to the two men and crossed her arms. She was 5’7, two inches shorter than them.
“Surely you two gentlemen weren’t thinking of beating up that nice, young lady over there?” She said, “Because if you were, I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask you to leave her alone.”
“Whut chu gonna do, huh?” One of them asked and they laughed.
“Stop!” The pigtailed girl said, “C’mon, let’s go.”
“But-!” One of them started, but the girl simply shut him up with a glare.
“Listen, you idiot, that girl is the daughter of the guy my Dad works for, if she goes blabbing, my ass is out on the street! Let’s GO.”
As soon as they had left, the girl turned around to see if the girl she had saved was okay, but she was already halfway down the hall. She ran to catch up with her.
“Hey! Are you okay?” She asked.
“Fine.” Ska replied.
“Er... My name is Seri! Seri Xiataou! And you are?”
“Ska. Ska Lon.”
Seri giggled, and Ska narrowed her eyes in annoyance.
“Well, Ska, it’s very nice to meet you-” Seri said, taking Ska’s hand to shake it. But the second they made physical contact, the world blacked out for them and they disappeared.
~*~*~*An unknown temple in god only knows where~*~*~*
“I don’t get it! There was only supposed to be one!” Whispered an old man to his granddaughter.
Ska moaned as she woke up, shaking her head to try and get her vision to stop swimming. She sighted the girl in front of her with her grandfather. The old man was bent with age, but the girl was tall with light brown hair in a braid and lime green eyes. She wore a simple orange dress with no other decorations.
“Who the hell are you people?” Ska asked.
“...Yup, that’s Ekira alright...” The man said after a minute. Seri rubbed her eyes as she woke up, and blinked at the old man and the girl.
“Oh, hello. Sir, could you please tell me where I am and how I might get home, please?” Seri said, sitting up from her bed.
“...T-That’s Ekira too...” He said, astonished.
“What do you mean?” The girl asked.
“They... They’re both exactly like Ekira... She,” He said, pointing to Seri, “Is just like she was when she was a girl... And She,” He pointed to Ska, “Is like her before she died...”
The girl blinked, “Do you think it’s possible...?”
“It seems so...”
“Hey! I don’t like being ignored! I asked, who the hell are you people?” Ska growled.
“My apologies, milady. I am Jiro. This is my granddaughter Zeno.” He said, bowing her head in respect.
“And you shall be informed of everything, if you would please follow us.” Zeno said, motioning for them to do so.
Seri jumped up to follow them without question, and Ska growled to herself as she trudged after them.
Zeno and Jiro lead them to another room in the temple which looked like it hadn’t been inhabited in years. It was decorated with unlit candles, and had a large portrait of a girl with long, lavender hair pulled back with a mint green headband, with blue eyes and pure white skin. She wore a frilly mint green dress with a dark, emerald green apron, had white stockings and dark green shoes. They looked like high heels, but had no heels. In front of her portrait was a glass casing. It was too dark to see what was in it.
Jiro snapped his fingers and all the candles lit themselves. Zeno went up the box and chanted something, and there was a soft ‘click.’ She took the item out of the box and held it out to Seri and Ska.
“I guess you two will have to share it.” She said, apologetically.
It was a necklace. Sort of. It was a silver chain with an odd trinket on the end. Said trinket had a smooth, clear, crystal staff with a roughly cut, obsidian star on the end.
“Go on, one of you take it.” She said.
“It is very pretty, but I couldn’t possibly-!” Seri started.
“I don’t want the damn thing. Just tell me how to get the hell out of here.” Ska interrupted.
“You can’t.” Jiro said simply.
“Excuse me?” Ska glared.
“The dimension you came from is extremely far from here. And it’s blocked off. If you want to get back, you have to do something first.” Jiro explained.
“What do I have to do?” Ska asked, looking positively murderous now.
“There are exactly twenty three portals with twenty three worlds. Each of them are enslaved by an evil sorcerer. His name is Zao Jin. Zao Jin is the descendant of Kintou, the sorcerer who killed Ekira, your former self.” Zeno said, taking over for him.
“It seems,” Jiro interrupted, “However, that when Ekira was reincarnated, her soul was split into two different people. You, Seri are the reincarnation of the child form of Ekira. And you, Ska, are her adult reincarnation.”
Zeno picked up where he left off, “If you want to get back to your world, you have to free the twenty two ones Zao Jin enslaved, duke it out with him, and get the key to your world before he figures out how. If he finds the key to the barrier of your world before you do, you can kiss your world goodbye. However, the less worlds he has under his control, the less power he has. And if he does find the key, the gods and goddesses of Doukoji, your world, will overpower him. But as powerful as he and his followers are now, I doubt Doukoji has a chance...”
“What does this key look like?” Seri asked.
“We don’t know. The key has taken the form of a mortal. You will know who it is when you find it, we know that much.” Jiro answered.
“Wait, if this guy and his minions are so strong, how are we gonna take him on?”
“Good question. This staff,” Zeno said, pointing to the trinket on the necklace, “Is the same one Ekira used. It is very powerful, and only you know can wield it. It was prophesied that only Ekira herself could use it’s powers. Which means you, being Ekira’s reincarnations, will also be able to use it.” With that, she put the necklace into Seri’s hand.
“Go ahead, try it out.”
“...How?” Seri asked, confused.
“Well, since you are the child form of Ekira, you should be able to use the power Ekira lost when she became an adult. Will it and it will. Try to fly!” Zeno said, giggling.
Seri looked confused, but did as she was told, “Okay... Um, I want to fly!” She said, unsure. Nothing happened.
Ska raised an eyebrow, “...How could I have ever doubted you?” She said sarcastically.
“No, no! You have to think happy thoughts while willing it! That way, you feel all float-y and stuff, ya know?” Zeno said.
Seri tried again, thinking, this time, about all her friends back home. Especially her best friend, Koki. She and Koki had been best friends since they were children, they were completely inseparable. She opened her eyes, not realizing she had closed them, and gasped. The staff, which had only been two inches long a minute ago, was now over two feet long.
“Now sit.” Said Zeno.
Seri did, and giggled when she and the staff began to levitate.
“I don’t suppose...?” Jiro started.
“Happy thoughts aren’t my thing.” Answered Ska.
“Well, then, Seri. I guess you’ll have to carry her. This staff was only meant for one, after all.” Jiro said and Seri nodded.
“C’mon, the sooner we free all those poor people, the sooner we can go home!” Seri said with a brilliant smile and picked up Ska, bride style. Ska growled and glared daggers, but said nothing.
“Now, one last thing...” Jiro said, and, with a swish of his hand, Seri and Ska’s school uniforms turned into the same frilly, headband-ed, stocking and heel-less high heeled get up that Ekira wore in the portrait.
“Oh, how cute!” Seri said, smiling, “Thank you!”
“...I really, really hate you, old man.” Ska said, glaring pointedly at Jiro.
“There is an open portal just beyond the temple. Go through it and it will bring you to the first world you must free. Good luck!” Zeno said and waved.
“Got it!” Seri said and flew out of the temple with Ska holding on for dear life.
“Well, looks like it’s just you and me from here on out!” Seri said, smiling at the shorter girl.
“...Oh, yay...” Ska replied, looking sick, “I can hardly wait...”
